About
Morning Rituals by the Pacific
Start your day in Waikiki with the salt-kissed breeze rolling through Shor. Located within the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, this open-air dining room captures the essence of a Hawaiian morning. The space is bright and airy, defined by high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that prioritize views of the iconic Pacific coastline over interior decor.
The Breakfast Spread
This is a destination for those who view breakfast as a competitive sport. The buffet layout features a mix of standard American morning staples alongside local touches like Portuguese sausage and tropical fruits sourced from island farms. Watch the chefs handle the egg station—the rhythmic clatter of pans and the hiss of fresh bacon are the soundtrack of the morning here. If you prefer a quieter start, the a la carte menu offers reliable classics prepared with consistency.
Practical Observations for Diners
Because of its prime location steps from the beach, Shor gets busy quickly. If you have a specific plan for the day, arrive early to avoid the rush of resort guests heading out to the surf. The seating can feel quite close together, which turns the morning bustle into a lively, high-energy environment rather than a hushed sanctuary. It is an ideal spot for families or groups who need a fuel-up before a long day of exploring Honolulu, as the sheer volume of the buffet ensures no one leaves hungry. Whether you are grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a long meal, the proximity to the Waikiki shoreline makes it a convenient launchpad for any beach-bound itinerary.

We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Waikiki celebrating our honeymoon. Alaina truly went above and beyond to make our stay feel memorable. Her thoughtfulness and care made a real difference, and we’re very grateful. The front desk team was consistently warm and welcoming throughout our stay. I especially appreciated how well they acknowledged my Globalist status. The room was sparkling clean, and the renovation was clearly well done. We appreciated the ocean view and the soothing sound of waves at night. One standout feature for me was the exceptionally fast elevators. At another hotel, we found ourselves waiting up to half an hour each time, so we really appreciated the efficiency here. The lounge is more minimal in design, but we found the food offerings quite solid. There are enough options for both breakfast and dinner, and if you’re mindful about costs, you could easily get by on lounge food alone (they provide snacks like cookies and oatmeal bars for midday). That said, as food enthusiasts, we didn’t rely on it heavily. As for parking, the self-parking garage was a bit inconvenient (limited to the 6th floor and above), but manageable; valet was very quick and easy. The location simply can’t be beat. Being right across from the beach and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants made everything incredibly convenient. It’s hard to imagine a better base for exploring Waikiki, and we'll likely return.

All staffs were so nice and friendly! I know that they have to deal with all tourists around the world but they always smile and be helpful. I really appreciate it! We got the Ocean view which was really amazing! Do Not Rent a Car if you will stay at Waikiki Beach because parking fee is extremely expensive!!! 😤 $65 per 24 hrs

An oldie but a goodie! Considering when this hotel was built it is always being maintained and looking immaculate. When I was there they were painting the tower in the middle so they are always improving and maintaining the building. Steps away from the beach and restaurants, it’s the perfect location to stay in Waikiki. Seafood buffet is amazing, so much steamed crab. It was so good! Shops and restaurants downstairs are really convenient as well. Only draw back is that the elevators get busy, but honestly what can you do about that, plus you are in Hawaii, what’s the rush! Front desk agents are very accommodating and take great care with every check in.

The gym has everything you need and more compared to your gym so if you are worried about your work out don't be! Its the only gym I have seen with 50+lbs all the way to 100s. Regency Club breakfast and all other amenities are also great. I'd highly recommend getting it. Staff made our vacation great. We are definitely coming back. I also highly recommend getting one of the suites with oceanfront view. It's spectacular

I booked this trip back in January and no where on the expedia site was there any notice of construction happening. The giant waterfall wasn't running and construction was loud. I just was there May 25th thru the 31st. However, the location is perfect and the staff is amazing. I would recommend for the manager or whoever oversees the swim bar schedule, to schedule more servers for Saturday morning. My son and I went there for breakfast yesterday morning and that poor server was the only person taking orders. I felt bad for her but she was very nice and efficient. We could clearly see she was alone. Besides the bartender. The room was spacious but on the 5th floor and labeled as city view and the only view was the construction of the building behind the hotel. The balcony was a decent size but the planters had dead flowers in them. The furniture was dated but the tv was giant and bed was pretty comfortable. Rented a daybed one day and that was really nice. Came with bottled water and a box of chocolates. The pool attendant Mike was great and Michelle the waitress was very nice as well.

This review should be 4+ stars, but It just doesn’t feel like a 4 star review place. I would love to come back here in a few years after a remodel. For the cost of the nightly stay on Waikīkī I expected more. The service was very good. Not a single complaint about the staff, or their helpfulness. On our second night the light in the restroom went out. Making it impossible to take a shower with the door closed. On our third night one entire wall lost power, including the TV, Fridge, half of our lamps and anything plugged into the wall to charge. Both times maintenance fixed the issue very quickly. Every kids/game amenity was broken in one way or another. Not a huge deal, unless you get stuck at the resort. We had regency club access though status. Overall this amenity was over sold, and extremely crowded every morning and evening. As advertised the breakfast, thought limited, included a handful of modest hot food options, as well as the standard continental options. However there was little room inside, and only a handful of covered tables outside. We were never able to get a table Indoors. Not usually a big deal in Hawaii, unfortunately, it rained 3 days on our trip. Our room also had a lovely view of the new Hilton tower under construction. No alarm clock needed. Noise maker recommended if you’d like to sleep in past 6am on your vacation. (On the plus side less people at breakfast)

We had another wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, and once again everything was exceptional from start to finish. We would especially like to thank Christian and Johnson for their outstanding service during our visit. They were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Their professionalism and kindness truly made a difference in our overall experience. It’s always a pleasure returning to this hotel. The location is perfect, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the level of hospitality is consistently high. That’s exactly why we chose to come back for a second time. Thank you once again to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Great location, great team, room is in decent shape. Hotel is celebrating the 50th anniversary and there are a few perks with the celebratory design. I really appreciate the welcome email I received over a week before check in, gave very good details on what to expect. Family and I are super grateful to be able to get a room upon arrival. Location is awesome, easy walk from many good restaurants and to do. It’s also just opposite the trolley stop for the green line. Will definitely stay here again when we are back. Another perk is there is car rental on property, which is super convenient for a morning car pick up.

Comfortable room, nice layout. We had a low floor (preferred by us) and were facing Kalakaua - this was not too noisy for us. Location could not have been better for shopping, Waikiki, wandering, dinners, etc. Atmosphere in the hotel was …
