A Taste of Taipei in the Heart of Kaimuki

Stepping into Seasons Taiwanese Eatery feels like catching a flight to a bustling corner of Taipei without leaving the shores of Oahu. Located in the vibrant Kaimuki district, this neighborhood favorite skips the pretense, focusing instead on the soulful, high-heat cooking that defines authentic Taiwanese cuisine. The air is perpetually heavy with the savory, soy-braised scent of their signature Beef Noodle Soup, a bowl that arrives steaming with tender shank and a broth so rich it coats the lips.

The Art of the Small Plate

If you prefer a communal spread, their small plates are the primary draw. The popcorn chicken is a masterclass in texture—deep-fried to a shatteringly crisp golden crust while remaining remarkably moist inside, dusted with just enough white pepper and basil to wake up your palate. You might notice the room gets quite lively during the dinner rush, creating a boisterous, energetic soundtrack of clinking chopsticks and overlapping conversations that makes the space feel alive.

Local Favorites and Quirks

It is worth noting that parking in this part of Honolulu can be a tight squeeze, so arriving a few minutes early is a pro move for a stress-free meal. While the menu highlights classics like scallion pancakes and braised pork belly rice, don't miss out on their seasonal offerings which shift to spotlight local produce. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch near the Diamond Head area or sitting down for a long-form dinner with friends, the staff keeps the pacing swift. It is a no-frills, high-flavor environment where the focus remains squarely on the steam rising from the bowl and the next bite of crispy, savory goodness.

What a wonderful experience. I was missing Taiwan & decided to try this place out and I wish I had done this sooner! The staff go above and beyond and are so kind. The food is insanely good and JUST like what I remember from my childhood. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I will be telling all my friends who visit O’ahu to come here!

Amazing restaurant with a friendly staff and an amazing chef who comes out and says hello. Food can be very spicy I've ordered spice level 3 multiple times and it is a great balance between spicy and amazing flavors. A spicy level 4 will have you in pain and beads of sweat from the first bite. The meat lovers noodle soup with the mala broth is the best in my opinion and you have got to try the popcorn chicken.

This was a good restaurant with delicious food. The meals were large and tasted great. All the meat we had was tender. You can choose your spice level (1-5) and we ordered everything at level 2 which was perfect for us (white people with some spice tolerance but nothing insane).

We tried the braised pork meal and ordered these at level 2 spicy: dragon dumplings, popcorn chicken, and beef noodle soup. If you’re sensitive to heat, go with level 1 because the hot spice packs a punch! The popcorn chicken was tender, juicy, and delicious. Everything was great. We just ate at the market and was full but decided to try the beef noodle soup and it was worth it. The handmade noodles had the perfect texture.

Pretty good Taiwanese spot. Ample seating space. Variety of dishes from rice dishes to noodle dishes. Certain dishes let you choose the heat levels… level 3 is for the slightly above average spice eater. The food wasn’t salty. The braised beef and tendon were cooked well. I wonder what type of noodles are used. Certain noodle bowls can be requested with no soup “dry”. They take cards and cash. Takeout or dine-in There is ample parking in the structure.

As much as I want to gatekeep, this place is too good to not share. My boyfriend and I don’t live on Oahu anymore, but when we do visit we go straight to Seasons for a guaranteed amazing meal. The staff is so welcoming and makes you feel like family, and we’ve never had to wait when we go for lunch. The food: We’ve tried almost everything on the menu and everything hits. Definitely recommend the dragon dumplings, any of the beef noodle soups, and they do fantastic vegetable sides too. We love the cucumbers, eggplant, and green beans. And it’s BYOB too :) The spice levels are no joke!!! Heed the waiters warnings on what levels they recommend.

This is a truly authentic Taiwanese restaurant—the owner is Taiwanese, the servers are Taiwanese, and the whole vibe just brings you right back to Taiwan. It’s such a comforting, nostalgic experience. The only dish that didn’t quite hit the mark for me was the beef soup noodle. It was fine, but not the kind that would stand out if you were actually in Taiwan. Still, everything else made up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving a real taste of home!

When searching up a restaurant near Nuuanu I was slightly skeptical but very curious about a 5-star rated restaurant. This restaurant did not disappoint. I made a reservation to make sure I could get a table on an Easter Sunday. They were short staffed with 1 server and 1 cashier (although I think there were 2 or more in the kitchen) and I was amazed at their authentic and courteous and kind service. I was also surprised by their speed as they had some cute signs posted reminding people that this was not a fast food restaurant. We ordered a mix of appetizers and dumplings to share for 2 people. The quality and flavors and freshness surprised me. Loved the herbs and spices of the dragon dumplings and the volume of basil that came with popcorn chicken. The beef and chicken were all tender and juicy. Will want to come back here again. Totally worth the rating!

Just came to visit Seasons Taiwanese eatery. They're located in the chinese cultural plaza across from legends seafood. We tried pretty much their entire menu. I got their braised tofu, taiwanese popcorn chicken, two choice appetizer (boiled pork, and braised beef shank), Chef Special Ma La noodle, and their dragon dumplings. Braised tofu: 4/5 Flashed fried tofu with a ginger sauce that was tangy and refreshing. Tofu was crispy and well fried on the outside and soft and silky on the inside. This was served with a side of pickled cabbage. Taiwanese popcorn chicken: 3/5 Honestly had very high hopes for this one. I grew up eating this at my favorite bubble tea shops as a kid. Maybe it was my mistake for ordering this at a level 5 spicy because it was very salty. The chicken itself was fried well and was very tasty, but the seasonings on the outside were so salty that it didn't even really taste spicy. 2 choice appetizer: 5/5 Boiled pork was similar to korean bossam with that same ginger sauce that was on the braised tofu, very tasty and meat was nice and tender. Braised beef shank was probably my most favorite thing on the menu here. The beef was so tender and flavorful and had some type of ground meat on top. If I could've just got a plate of this I would have. Chef Special Ma-La Noodle: 5/5 Noodles are bought from Sun Noodle company, so you know the dish was going to be delicious. The broth was warm and spicy with those great sichuan tingling spices. TONS of meat very tender and great flavor. Lots of basil and vegetables. Dragons Dumplings: 5/5 Similar to a chili oil dumpling. Very tender wrapper, and well seasoned meat filling. Can't go wrong here. Overall, the restaurant is clean, the staff are very attentive and food came out very quickly. I think the concept is unique and different to the other foods that we have in Hawaii. Pro tip: if you like that burn your booty hole spicy level of food, they got that here at their level 5 spicy, but if black pepper is too spicy for you, stick to level 0 or 1.

The popcorn chicken was very good except the basil is lack of aroma as usual (impossible to get a good one here in Honolulu). The pork belly was very well seasoned and cooked, probably the best Taiwanese pork belly in town. One thing pitiful is the rice is not the right species, i.e. Taiwanese round rice. The fried tofu with Taiwanese pickles are really good, the braised intestines are very tender with relatively light seasoning. The spicy sauce for D dragon dumplings are very good. Fried beans are very addictive, don't underestimate it! The sliced pork are a bit too thick tho the sauce is very tasty. Lunch menu options can be a bit limited. Service are nice. However, I just learned my friends who ate the boiled dumplings I bought got diarrhea, they told me the skin was undercooked, which is quite disappointing...
