About
A Slice of New York in Honolulu
Positioned within the sprawling Ala Moana Center food court, Sbarro offers a familiar pitstop for shoppers navigating the busy corridors of this massive Honolulu retail hub. The scent of bubbling mozzarella and toasted crust cuts through the ambient noise of the crowd, drawing in anyone looking for a quick, carb-heavy refuel between store visits.
What to Expect
The display case is the main attraction, showcasing the brand’s signature XL New York-style pizzas, heavy on the cheese and oil. You’ll find slices of pepperoni or sausage ready to be reheated to a blistering, molten temperature. Beyond the pie, they maintain the classic chain lineup including strombolis and pasta plates tossed in marinara or creamy alfredo sauces. It is straightforward, no-frills fuel that prioritizes convenience above all else.
The Experience
Eating here is a utilitarian affair. Because it is embedded in the high-traffic Ala Moana food court, you are likely to be contending with limited seating during the lunch rush, where tables turn over rapidly and the roar of a thousand conversations creates a frantic energy. It is not the spot for a lingering conversation, but it remains a reliable constant for those who have a specific craving for greasy, oversized pizza slices while wandering the largest open-air shopping mall in the world. If you prefer your pizza folded in half and dripping with flavor, this is the quickest route to that satisfaction before heading back out into the island sun.

I already bought my dinner and was walking around to see what I missed. I remember eating at Sbarro and really liking their spaghetti. Walking by, I got a big smile from the gentleman behind the counter who greeted me with a big smile and hello. He offered me a cup of water. That greeting just floored me. I’ve worked in world class hotels and trained in exceptional service and his simple positive greeting surpassed anything I’ve seen recently. I asked him his name, Brandon, and will definitely go back and order from him this week. In that hustle and bustle, he gave me an authentic smile, great eye contact and no pressure to buy something which I did not. But after I left, I felt his genuine warmth and will make it a point to return. He should be VP of this company or any company that values customer service. He has that formula down. I believe he has great things in store for him in the near future and anyone looking for someone to lead their company to sucess? You better grab him now. Sbarro? Give him a raise and a promotion but keep him in front of customers, because what he has you can’t teach. Hey Brandon! See you soon!

I'm never going to this Sbarro again! The 2 pizza slices I ordered was lukewarm from the oven. The cashier (Filipino guy) was rude as hell. If I going to pay over $22.00 for 2 slices of pizza, at least have good service!
