Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill (300 Rodgers Ave Shop 33)
About
An Island Pitstop at HNL
Located right in the heart of the Honolulu airport terminal, Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill serves as the final taste of Hawaii before you board your flight home. Founded by rock legend Sammy Hagar, the space carries a distinct rock-and-roll memorabilia aesthetic, blending music history with the laid-back sensibilities of the islands. It’s a sharp departure from the typical sterile airport terminal experience, filled with the hum of traveler chatter and the occasional clinking of glasses echoing off the walls.
The Beach Bar Menu
The kitchen leans into comfort food with a tropical twist. You’ll find signature offerings like their beach-style fish tacos and the Hagar-inspired burgers that keep things hearty for weary travelers. The bar is a central feature, focusing on tropical cocktails and signature spirits that feel appropriate for a final sunset drink over the Honolulu tarmac. The service moves with the pace of a busy transit hub, so expect a high-energy environment that doesn't linger too long on formalities.
What to Expect
While the proximity to gates makes this incredibly convenient, keep in mind that the acoustics can get quite lively during peak departure windows. It is the ideal spot if you are looking to grab a quick, recognizable bite without straying from your terminal. Whether you are a fan of Hagar’s musical legacy or simply in need of a cold drink before a long-haul flight, this spot provides a necessary functional charm. The seating is often tight, mimicking the cozy, crowded nature of a popular bar, making it best suited for solo travelers or pairs looking to kill time efficiently before takeoff.

Ordered a mahi taco and mai tai. The food looks like was opened from a plastic bag and heated up, including the tortilla and chips.... sorry, this is Honolulu, at the very least, when you pay a high price for the taco, you expect better quality seafood... can't compete with Japanese seafood..

We ordered pork tacos and a quesadilla and everything was relatively tasty The pork was tender and flavorful with a nice touch of spices The tacos looked fresh and well balanced with sauce and toppings The quesadilla was simple but filling and had a nice homemade taste The service was polite and friendly our waiter brought the food quickly and checked on us a few times The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing perfect for lunch or dinner near the beach Prices are slightly above average and portions could be a bit larger but overall it was a good experience The place feels casual and cozy with nice views and good music Not the best tacos I have ever had but definitely worth a visit if you are nearby

Love the grilled chicken sandwich and the fries here. Customer service was great the first time and iffy the second. Food was still good!
