Saigon's Restaurant
About
A Taste of Vietnam in the Heart of Honolulu
Stepping into Saigon's Restaurant feels like trading the humid Honolulu heat for the cozy, bustling energy of a traditional street-side eatery. The air is thick with the savory, aromatic scent of star anise and charred ginger drifting from large vats of slow-simmered beef broth. This isn't a place for white-tablecloth pretense; it is a straightforward spot where the clatter of ceramic bowls and the hum of locals catching up on their day create a grounded, authentic soundtrack.
The menu remains loyal to the classics, focusing heavily on refined Pho and fragrant vermicelli plates. Their signature broth is clear yet deeply complex, indicating the hours of preparation required to extract the marrow and spice profiles. Diners often flock here for the beef brisket, which arrives tender enough to pull apart with just the tension of a chopstick. The spring rolls are notably fresh, packed with vibrant herbs that offer a crisp, cooling contrast to the richness of the main dishes.
Located in a convenient slice of the city, the restaurant is perfect for those seeking a no-nonsense lunch or a quick, soul-warming dinner. Be aware that the space is compact and fills up quickly during the midday rush, so if you are visiting with a larger group, planning for an off-peak arrival is a smart move. Whether you are a long-time resident of Oahu or just wandering away from the beach, the consistent quality of their comfort food makes it a reliable staple for anyone craving genuine Southeast Asian spices without the fuss.

Today I got to try their summer rolls & shredded chicken sandwich and they were great. It really seemed like a healthy food and I really felt clean and nice after eating such healthy food. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

We were greeted warmly and pointed to a table. There appear to be many “regulars” dining here who know exactly what they want to eat by heart. We ordered the oxtail soup with pho noodles and a regular steak pho. The portions were generous for a “regular” size pho. I liked the very thin noodles. Also looked the volume of greens/herbs presented with the soup. We will be back!

We ordered food to go, although we could have stayed to eat in the restaurant. There are tables in the restaurant to accommodate customers “open seating.” The Pho is delicious ( Steak and Cooked Flank). They provide a generous portion of basil, lemon, sprouts, sauce, and jalapeños. The oxtail curry is also a delicious dish. And the summer rolls were great. I have had excellent food every time I have been here.
