Little hole-in-the-wall spot with seriously delicious food. I ordered the weekend special — the chicken karaage bowl with rice and salad — and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and well seasoned. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving good ramen and comfort food!

Hidden gem! I was walking looking for some food and nearly passed it. The ramen was delicious. The broth was flavorful, the noodles were perfectly chewy. I loved that the portion size wasn't overly massive and the price was very affordable. I would 10/10 recommend.

Very glad I stumbled upon this little place around the corner from my hotel! I was happy to see cold noodles and they were refreshing on a warm evening. Noodles were perfectly al dente and julienned vegetables and protein were carefully arrayed on top. The gyoza were fried to a perfect light crisp. Even the fried rice had just enough salty flavour.

Super long wait (though it's during holiday season, I still waited for 20 mins), but it's surprisingly good! I mainly love the noodles, really great, just as I had back in Japan

Hole-in-the-wall esque place with some nice noodles. I came at a time when it's not busy, and service was expectedly fast and prompt. The mezemen was fresh, with great firmness and bounce to the noodles. Couldn't ask for more for a quick lunch.

What a hidden gem! This food was really comforting and tasted like the best home cooked food. My fiancee and I were looking for a light meal so we shared a combo meal. We ordered the mazeman combo that came with a mini order of fried rice and 4 pc gyoza. It was so good that we were fighting over the fried rice! After finishing we contemplated ordering a second combo! The owner was very friendly and he seems to run the entire operation from taking orders to cooking. It’s a nice cozy spot in an alleyway food court with some of the best food we had on our trip!

Amazing ramen! A hidden gem in Waikiki. I had the Tonkotsu Spicy Tan ramen—if you prefer a low/milder spice level, this is a great choice, as the broth is flavorful without being overpowering. My family tried the Wonton Ramen and the silky vegan ramen, and both were absolutely delicious! You won’t be disappointed with this hidden gem.

This place offers variety of Japanese noodle. We came here because they have hiyashi chuka Japanese style cold noodle. Every meal you order you can add fried rice with dumpling. The cold noodle is perfect for Hawaii’s hot weather.

The original Ezogiku on Kalakaua Ave. was our favorite ramen & fried rice spot on the rock. In their heyday, they had about five locations on Oahu. In 2024, they’re down to two if you go by the biz name, or one (in Aiea) if going by the menu selections and taste. When the Kalakaua location closed, they relocated to the Royal Hawaiian Center’s food court before closing again after a few years. Enter 2021; this is their third and current relocation but with a different menu. ATMOSPHERE: Their newest iteration finds them in a covered side street alley food court shared with four other eateries and communal seating. MENU: Ramen in four broths (shoyu, miso, tonkotsu & vegan), cold versions, a brothless mazeman, rice & gyoza. FOOD: Simple Ramen Combo - $15.95 Shoyu ramen topped with tender chashu, half a hard boiled egg, fishcake & green onions. The $5 upcharge added fried rice and 4-pieces of gyoza. The best part of this was the chewy, eggy noodles. The semi-hot broth, while dark and savory, was flat with no depth. Almost as good as the original, the fried rice had noticeably less bits of chashu, fishcake and flavor. Though with a nice char, the gyozas easily fell apart when picking them up due to their thin and soggy wrappers. SERVICE: Counter service was friendly. Food came out in under 10 minutes. TIP: 10% kama’aina discount available. Type in your phone number on their tablet which automatically enrolls you into their loyalty program. OVERALL: Want old school Ezogiku? Head to their last stronghold in the town of Aiea.

Do not be discouraged by the small hole in the wall location, the ramen is really good! I was suspicious at first but I’m so glad I took the chance. It was delicious. The portion size was good. The chef was very nice. We got the tan tan ramen and the silky vegan ramen, they were great. The store is located in a small food court, at the very end. There are outdoor tables to sit. Please support this lovely restaurant!
