About
A in the Heart of Honolulu
Tucked away inside the vibrant atmosphere of the Foodland Farms at Ala Moana, R Field The Bar offers a sophisticated retreat for wine lovers and casual diners alike. This isn't your typical grocery store stop; it serves as a curated space for those who appreciate a sharp selection of global wines and craft beers paired with high-quality local ingredients.
The Experience
The space strikes a balance between industrial chic and the relaxed, open-air feel of the islands. You will often find the clinking of glasses punctuating the ambient chatter of shoppers passing by just beyond the bar stools. It is an ideal spot for a post-work glass of Pinot or a quick bite before heading into the Ala Moana Center. Be aware that because it is located within the marketplace, the environment remains lively and energetic—perfect for people-watching, though perhaps not for those seeking a hushed, candlelit conversation.
Signature Bites and Pours
R Field is celebrated for its commitment to elevated convenience. You can select a bottle of wine from the retail shelves and enjoy it on-site for a modest corkage fee, a rare perk in Honolulu. Their menu frequently highlights artisan charcuterie, imported cheeses, and fresh poke that showcases the Pacific's finest catch. The staff possesses a deep knowledge of the rotating tap list, which often features rare brews that are difficult to find elsewhere in the city. If you find yourself navigating the busy aisles of the shopping center, this bar offers a necessary reprieve to recharge with a glass of crisp white wine and a plate of locally sourced delicacies.

Poor Customer Service - I have eaten here multiple times on my business trips to Honolulu. The food has been excellent and the service up to today great. The Bar does not have many non-alcoholic beverages. Each previous visit I took a lemonade from the case and paid for it on the way out without issue. This evening, an employee who I have not seen before was extremely insistent that I could not drink the lemonade at the bar. I cancelled my order, got up and left. You lost my business.

Impromptu visit while shopping & we stayed despite the poke' warming up in the cart. Why? Gino, our server who went above & beyond, the other local customers who engaged & laughed with us, the drinks & yummy pupus! No happy hour but it was worth the price. Got the ahi spread with lavosh that was yummy & a lot. And the hamachi that was well presented & yummy. Glad we took a fun break & stopped there. Will be back -- see you soon Gino! Mahalo.
