About
A Hidden Pulse in the Kaka'ako Industrial District
Stepping into Pre Storage feels less like walking into a bar and more like discovering a well-kept secret among the concrete warehouses of Honolulu. This intimate cocktail lounge leans heavily into a minimalist, industrial aesthetic, echoing the utilitarian history of the surrounding Kaka'ako neighborhood. You won't find neon signs or shouting storefronts here; instead, the entrance remains unassuming, forcing you to trade the bright Hawaiian sun for a dim, curated interior where the focus shifts entirely to what is in your glass.
Crafting the Perfect Pour
The bartenders here treat mixology with the precision of a chemistry lab. The menu rotates frequently, emphasizing seasonal local produce and high-end spirits that aren't typically splashed into standard island drinks. Expect a sensory experience defined by the sharp clink of large-format ice against heavy crystal and the lingering aroma of toasted spices or citrus oils misted over a stirred concoction. It is a quiet sanctuary for those who prefer thoughtful, complex flavors over the sugary profiles of tourist-heavy beach bars.
Practical Nuances
While the atmosphere is refined and hushed, keep in mind that space is limited. The seating is tight, and the acoustics are designed for close-quarters conversation rather than boisterous groups. Parking in this part of town can be a bit of a challenge due to the ongoing redevelopment, so budget a few extra minutes to navigate the nearby blocks before your reservation. If you are looking for a place to start or end a night with serious, thoughtful drinking in an authentic local setting, this is where you go when you want to bypass the typical Honolulu nightlife scene.

You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the outside, but this is a super trendy Japanese bar. The service was attentive and polite and the drinks were great. Highly recommend the lemon sour.

Cozy bar in Moiliili serving up some damn good drinks and food. The lemon sour is a must, as is the uni pasta. Nice selection of Japanese whisky and friendly bartenders. If your plans include karaoke there’s two rooms here for groups small and big. Check ‘em out. Lots of parking too.
