About
A Taste of Thailand on Keeaumoku Street
Stepping into Pattaya_hi, the air is immediately thick with the fragrance of galangal, lemongrass, and simmering coconut milk. Located within the bustling dining corridors of Honolulu, this spot strips away the pretense of fine dining to focus entirely on the punchy, vibrant flavors of Central Thailand. You will hear the rhythmic clatter of woks hitting high flames from the open kitchen, a soundtrack that promises high-heat cooking and fresh results.
Signature Curries and Street-Style Staples
The menu leans heavily into traditional recipes that balance heat with the subtle sweetness of palm sugar. Their massaman curry is a standout, featuring slow-cooked proteins that pull apart with a fork, bathed in a rich, nuanced sauce served alongside perfectly fluffy jasmine rice. The som tum, or green papaya salad, arrives with the crunch of fresh chilis and peanuts, offering a sharp acidity that cuts through the heavier dishes. It is a no-frills environment designed for those who prioritize food quality over white-tablecloth service.
What to Expect
This is a favorite for local office workers during lunch and small groups seeking a communal dinner. Be aware that the space is compact, which means that during peak hours, conversations can become quite lively, reflecting the energetic nature of the urban Honolulu dining scene. Parking in the area can be a bit of a challenge, so plan your arrival accordingly to ensure you get to your seat without the stress of circling the block. If you are looking for an honest, authentic bowl of noodles or a fragrant curry that doesn't compromise on spice levels, this is the destination.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around, and I’m so glad we did! I got the Tom Kha with hot-level spice, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was intimate and homey, making for a really enjoyable dining experience. The portions were generous and matched the price well. Definitely a memorable outing—thank you, Pattaya’s Thai! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I ordered the Tofu Pineapple Fried Rice through Uber Eats, but unfortunately, the dish arrived without a single chunk of pineapple in it. It's disappointing to receive a signature dish missing its namesake ingredient, especially when ordering delivery. The rest of the meal was underwhelming given the oversight.

It was literally the best Khao Man Gai I've ever had. The meat was thick, decent and flavorable, but once I put it into my mouth, it turned so soft like it started kind of melting. I've stayed in Thailand for 4 months total and literally had lots of khao man gai in its home country, but THIS is literally the best. I mean, the price is much higher than that of Thailand, but still. Definitely worth it to try if you're a fan of Thai cuisine.
