About
A Neighborhood Nook in the Heart of Honolulu
Tucked away for those who know where to look in the urban sprawl of Honolulu, Pandora Cafe serves as an unpretentious gathering spot. The interior carries a modest, no-frills aesthetic, making it the kind of place where locals head when they want a hearty meal without the fuss of white-tablecloth service. You’ll hear the steady hum of chatter from neighborhood regulars and the occasional clatter of dishes from a kitchen that prioritizes substance over presentation.
Comfort Food without the Pretense
The menu focuses on reliable Hawaiian-style comfort food, drawing inspiration from island favorites. While you won't find avant-garde plating here, the portions are consistently generous. Patrons often come for the classic plate lunch options and the savory, slow-cooked meats that hit the spot after a long day. The scent of seasoned rice and grilled proteins often wafts through the entrance, signaling exactly what you are in for.
What to Expect
This is a spot built for a casual lunch break or a quick dinner rather than a long, drawn-out celebration. Be mindful that the space can get quite busy during peak hours, and finding a spot for your car in the immediate vicinity might require a bit of patience—a common reality for many Honolulu gems. The service is straightforward and efficient, matching the laid-back rhythm of the island. If you are hunting for a reliable, honest meal in the city, this is a community cornerstone that delivers exactly what it promises on the chalkboard.

Pandora is probably my favorite 24-hour spot in Honolulu. The people working here are incredibly kind and consistently nice, and the food is great. They’re open 24 hours, which makes it one of only two places near Waikiki I know of that are truly open all day—the other being Denny’s. I highly recommend eating here or ordering carryout or delivery. While Denny’s can be hit or miss and the staff there can sometimes be rude, the people here are always pleasant. There’s also a Korean place ChoGa-Jip on Kapiolani that stays open until around 4 a.m., so it’s almost 24 hours, but not quite. Pandora is the best 24 hour restaurant near Waikiki.

We had a really good experience here. We were there by chance for a bachelor party. The place was completely empty (this was at 10pm on a Thursday). The food was great. The atmosphere and booth were a little outdated, but man we had a blast! I think they were charging $20 an hour?

On a Friday at midnight there was only our group. Felt like a letdown especially with the 4 star rating.

We ordered a chicken katsu curry on Uber but there was only a thin layer of curry on top of two layers of Katsu. The portion of curry was much smaller than what was shown in the menu image. Where is the curry?!

This is a rather his place and so not really a hang out for someone like me, middle-aged Haole. I came here once and didn't return. However, the beer was reasonable and the food I had was really good. They have karaoke and music, and it seems to be quite a lively crowd on the weekends. I wouldn't suggest this place for tourists.
