Panda Express - Honolulu (Kapahulu Ave)
About
A Quick Stop on Kapahulu
Located just a short drive from the sands of Waikiki, this Kapahulu Avenue outpost serves as a reliable go-to for those navigating the busy corridor between Diamond Head and Kaimuki. If you are craving a familiar fix of American-Chinese comfort food, this is the spot to grab a quick lunch or an easy takeout dinner before heading to the beach.
Signature Wok-Fired Classics
The scent of ginger and soy sauce greets you the moment you step inside. The kitchen maintains the standard rhythm of wok-firing batches of their hallmark Orange Chicken, which remains the crowd favorite for its distinct balance of crispy breading and tangy citrus glaze. Beyond the classics, you will find seasonal rotations like Honey Walnut Shrimp, which offers a satisfying crunch that plays well against the steamed rice or chow mein.
The Local Experience
The space is built for efficiency rather than lingering. Expect the typical bright, bustling atmosphere of a fast-casual eatery, though keep in mind that the shared parking lot along this high-traffic stretch of Honolulu can get tight during peak meal hours. It is an ideal pit stop for families or beachgoers who need a hearty, budget-friendly meal without the formal sit-down service found elsewhere in the city. The staff moves with precision, keeping the steam tables replenished so that your plate is consistently hot even when the lunch rush hits its stride.

I like this panda. I just wish they had indoor seating. Outside, you get harassed by birds and the homeless.

The guy who served my food had some sort of wetness on the back of hands… either sweat or mucus from his nose. He kept wiping his nose and picking at his face as he was dipping the food. Thats just nasty. I immediately threw it right in the trash when I got outside. I didn’t want to cause a scene or embarrass anyone, but yuck 🤢 🤢 🤮 This was Sunday, August 3, 2025, 8:08 pm

Small location inside but the Employees are very nice the food is good. A lot of outdoor tables. It is right by the road so if you choose to eat there keep in mind that it can be pretty noisy and windy. No drive-through but as long as you can find parking quickly you can be in-and-out very quickly.
