Fast Cravings in the Heart of Honolulu

When you are navigating the bustle near Warden Ave and need a meal that hits the spot without the wait, this local outpost offers that familiar comfort food experience. The scent of sizzling ginger and garlic greets you the moment you walk through the doors, a staple fragrance for those seeking a quick bite in the city.

Signature Wok-Fired Classics

The menu remains anchored by the iconic Original Orange Chicken, a dish that balances crispy texture with a signature sweet and tangy glaze. If you prefer something with a bit more kick, the Kung Pao Chicken offers a reliable crunch from peanuts paired with the heat of dried chili peppers. Whether you are grabbing a bowl on your lunch break or feeding a group with a family feast, the preparation follows the consistent, high-heat wok standards expected from the brand.

A Convenient Stop

This spot is ideal for families or professionals who appreciate an efficient service model. While the dining area is designed for high turnover, it provides a functional space to sit down and enjoy your meal while watching the Honolulu street life move by outside. Be mindful that during peak lunch hours, the queue can stretch toward the entrance, a minor hurdle for such a reliable dining staple. Grab your favorite side of Chow Mein or Super Greens and enjoy a straightforward, flavorful meal that doesn't complicate your day.

The steam rice is moist and not dry or grainy. This store prepares it just right while many stores do not. 🤙

The food at this location near JBPHH is hit or miss. During week, it seems better than weekends, different cooks I assume but quality is not consistent.

I placed a mobile order at 6:41pm with a “ready”time of 6:55. At 6:55 my order was not ready. A customer walk in and placed his order at 7. He paid and received his food by 7:02. I was still waiting. 7:06 I finally got my got my food. The string bean chicken breast I had ordered was 99% string beans with a few very small pieces of chicken.

More than $16 for 5 pieces of shrimps and 2 pieces of 1–inches beef. The rest is vegetable. The young lady with glasses seemed unfriendly to foreign travelers. I asked her questions about the food before I chose. Her chin was very high forward me and raising her eyebrows for yes. The words she only spoke to me was “anything else?”. That’s it. I felt unwelcome as a foreign traveler.

Food is always delicious! Friendly staff. Prices are affordable and they also have a drive thru. Plenty of parking. One thing I like about Panda is they prepare food right where you see it. The cooks are constantly cooking because people are coming in nonstop. Make sure to have your ID with you because they need to check if the debit/credit card you're using is yours. There's an outside seating, wheelchair accessible, and an inviting atmosphere. It's usually crowded during lunch(11am-12pm) and dinner time(5-6pm ish) and mainly it's because many military personnel come here at the shopping center. It's a good place to hang out with your family, and friends.

The store is clean and staff friendly and efficient, food options are good but about the sides, the rice and noodles just look good but no taste at all, fried rice and noodles are a proud of Chinese cuisine that need to be respected if you selling Chinese food. Recipe needs to be reviewed and hopefully by a Chinese chef to be more delicious .

The food we had was just ok. The honey walnut shrimp was tasty and walnuts fresh and crunchy. The orange chicken was slightly tangy/salty and had a nice crunchy texture to it. The mushroom chicken was better than the orange chicken. It was tender with a mild overall “veggie” flavor. Service could be improved. I asked if the black pepper chicken is very spicy, and the worker replied, “well the main ingredient is black pepper”. (I thought the main ingredient was chicken, no?). Main reason I went here was for a school fundraiser. However, they only give credit to the school if you preorder on-line and the app wasn’t working for me.

Normally I love Panda Express. Normally I eat my normal meal...a plate with half super greens, half chow mein, and teri chicken and Shanghai beef. This is my go to. It is my safe place. A little healthy, a little heat, and I'm happy. Well, the marketing team for Panda has done their job, and they've done it well! I strayed from my safe place, from the norm, and I tried something new. Deemed their szechuan chicken, and labeled as spicy with an option to even order it 'extra SPICY', I was hooked in. It was a one time event, which I suppose is the intention of a chain restaurant's limited time fare...good or bad, they got you in the door. The chicken strips, I mean, the szechuan chicken, were/was okay. The chicken meat was all white, and good quality. But the fried batter on the chicken was just okay, with the heat level from these orange glowing nuggets being nearly nonexistent on their own, and very minimal with the addition of Panda's extra spicy powder which I requested. Szechuan chicken, aka, overly salty marketing gimmick. Not great, good-ish, but not worth a second go. Perhaps the insult to injury is that a portion is 3 of these little chicken fingers. Thankfully in my plate I also had the teri chicken, no sauce...it redeemed my lunch plate portion. My wife, on the other hand, orders the bowl with super greens and an entree, and the 3 sad pieces of chicken on top of stir fried kale, cabbage, and broccoli made for a sad and small lunch choice. We'll be back to Panda, but we'll also be back to our go to safe places!
