Flavor Meets Honolulu Nightlife
Tucked away near the bustling heart of Honolulu, Osoyami Bar and Grill serves as a reliable anchor for locals hunting for a post-shift meal or a casual late-night haunt. The atmosphere feels lived-in and unpretentious; expect a constant, low-level hum of chatter and the rhythmic clinking of ice against glass that defines a true neighborhood watering hole.
The Culinary Approach
This is where standard grill fare meets island-influenced comfort. While the kitchen keeps things straightforward, the signature skewers and hearty pupu platters are designed to be shared over a few rounds of drinks. You will often catch the distinct, savory scent of charred meats drifting from the kitchen, a welcome signal for anyone coming in hungry after sunset.
Practical Realities
Be aware that the floor plan is compact, which means on busy weekends, the seating can feel intimate to the point of friction with your neighbor. It is the kind of spot where you might find yourself sharing a corner of a high-top table or navigating a bit of a squeeze to reach the bar. Parking in this part of the city can be a sport in itself, so arriving a few minutes early or opting for a rideshare is a pro move to ensure you don’t spend your appetite circling the block.
Why Choose This Spot?
Osoyami is perfect for the crowd that values accessibility and a no-frills experience over white-tablecloth service. Whether you are wrapping up a long day in the city or just looking for a low-key place to unwind, the blend of approachable service and consistent flavor keeps it a staple for those in the know.

Really disappointed with the level and competency of service on a friday night. They were clearly understaffed on a busy friday night, two servers, a useless MC, and appeared to have only one official bartender working. Our drinks took forever. The server absolutely screwed up our checks and didn't even appear to try or want to try to get the checks right. Food was decent and very generous portions for price. I would not go back back because of the service quality.

Osoyami is me and my friend's go to bar that always keeps us coming back for more. Cheaper cocktails, great service, happy hour menus and a wide variety of high quality sushi and bar food as well as fun events like the karaoke nights. You can tell the regulars there really enjoy the place and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a yummy dinner with some fun drinks.

Osoyami is our go to bar spot and honestly it is hard to beat for a casual night out. There is a ton of seating which makes it easy to come with friends, and everyone who works here is consistently friendly and welcoming. It never feels rushed even when it is busy. One of my favorite parts is the entertainment. They have three arcade games you can play for free and a dart area, which makes it a fun place to hang out rather than just sit and drink. The alcohol selection is large and there is something for everyone. They also have two food menus which is a huge plus. One from Izakaya Hideyoshi and one from Osoyami itself. I usually order from the Izakaya menu and got the Gyu Don during happy hour for $13. Super affordable for the quality you get and very satisfying. Osoyami’s own food menu also has happy hour options and overall the food is delicious. I will say the burger quality has gone down a bit compared to before, but the fries are still really good. Service is fairly fast for a busy bar, which I appreciate. Drinks and food come out in a reasonable amount of time even during peak hours. The ambiance is dark and cozy but the place itself is clean and tidy, not grimy like some bar settings can be. Parking can be a bit tough. They only have around 12 spots and they fill up quickly, but I usually can find street parking nearby without too much trouble. Overall a solid, fun, and reliable bar spot with good food options, great vibes, and friendly service. Definitely one of our regular places.

This is a true hidden gem. I love mushroom Swiss burgers, and this place has it and makes it well! First, I don’t get why not every burger joint offers mushroom Swiss. It’s the best combo in a burger. Second, not every place makes it well. But osoyami got both! I’m normally not a huge burger person, it’s more my husband’s thing, but this place seriously has the burger that I will dream about from time to time. I don’t know. It might not be the best burger ever, but I think the mushroom Swiss is pretty darn close. I also tried their signature one. It’s also great but I always go back to my fav burger. Not to mention you can switch it up and order from the izakaya menu. It’s 2 menus (and sorta 2 checks) from the same restaurant that you’ll receive at the end. Interesting operation but whatever works so I can get my hand roll and hamachi carpaccio before I have my burger. Service has been great the few times I’ve been there. Friendly and plenty of tables for a crowd. The best part is the free arcade games that you can play before your food arrives! There’s also a claw machine that only charges 25c per round. (Please keep it affordable coz the kiddos just want to move the claw, they don’t really care what the prizes are!) Plenty of parking in their private lot as well. There are also darts. Great place to hang out with friends. Great chill vibes. Reminds me of bars by the beach in San Diego (pacific beach or ocean beach area). Kids are allowed but I think not past a certain time? Love this spot! Check it out if you’ve never been!

This place has really stepped it up. Beers are cheap, and their food is awesome. Either from the sushi side or regular side, food is great. Their bur gers are the best smash burgers I've tasted. And they have great happy hour deals. $3 coors light!!

Went on a Friday night. Food was not bad. I recommend the chicken karaage! There was karaoke which was pretty entertaining. Parking is a bit tricky but we managed. Prices weren't too bad. All in all would return.

I went on a tournament night for street fighter 6. The O'ahu FGC came out for a nice night of gaming. Food and rinks are good too.
