About
Island Comfort in the Heart of Honolulu
Stepping into Ohana Dish, you are immediately greeted by the low hum of local conversation and the savory, slow-cooked scent of authentic island comfort food. This isn't a place for fine dining; it is a straightforward, no-frills kitchen where the focus remains entirely on the plate lunch culture that defines Hawaii's culinary identity.
The Local Plate Lunch Experience
Expect generous portions served in classic styrofoam or takeaway containers, featuring staples like tender kalua pork and crispy chicken katsu. The star of the show is often the house-made gravy, which finds its way over everything from fluffy white rice to their iconic macaroni salad. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch while exploring the downtown Honolulu district or seeking a reliable spot for a hearty, affordable meal, the menu hits the marks of tradition.
A Few Things to Know
The space is functional and efficient, perfect for those who prioritize flavor over white-tablecloth service. Be prepared for a bit of a challenge if you are driving, as street parking throughout this busy Honolulu corridor can be competitive during the lunch rush. It is best to plan your visit slightly before or after the peak midday congestion. You will hear the clatter of kitchen prep and the quick pace of regulars moving through the line, confirming that this remains a neighborhood favorite for people who live and work in the area. Grab your go-to combo, find a bench nearby, and enjoy a genuine taste of Hawaii.

The best plate lunch! Very much a hole in the wall kind of place! There is a difference between a mini vs regular meal. Curry katsu and bbq chicken are a must try. Also if you like a classic Mac salad this place has it! Limited seating options.
