OEC Cafe
About
Morning Staples in the Heart of Kaimuki
Tucked away in the vibrant Kaimuki neighborhood, OEC Cafe has built a steady following for those who prefer their breakfast without the tourist-heavy crowds of Waikiki. The space feels like a true neighborhood haunt—unpretentious, brightly lit, and humming with the low murmur of regulars catching up over coffee.
The Omelet Experience
The kitchen is best known for its extensive omelet menu, which serves as the anchor of their morning offerings. Whether you opt for a classic preparation or something more adventurous, the eggs are consistently fluffy and folded with precision. The aroma of sizzling garlic and buttery toast hits you the moment you step through the door, signaling a no-frills, scratch-made kitchen. Pair your meal with their house-brewed coffee, which keeps the caffeine flow steady while you navigate the somewhat compact seating arrangement.
A Local Perspective
This is the kind of place where the service is efficient and direct, perfect for someone who wants a substantial meal before a day of exploring Honolulu. While the interior is modest and the morning rush can make the space feel quite intimate, the value and the reliability of the breakfast platters make it a staple for anyone living or staying in the surrounding zip codes. It is straightforward, honest cooking that focuses on fueling your day rather than catering to trends.

Always super high quality food! Good portion sizes & excellent flavors. They post their menu on Instagram. The tonkatsu is excellent and if you're lucky, they might have crispy pork with chili sauce that day. The sandwiches are also very good and reasonably priced.

What a great place to grab a plate lunch! It’s small and not very visible but that’s all made up with the great service, large portions, and wonderful food. Living downtown, it’s nice to find a place like this! Highly recommend.

Still open during covid-19 and practicing increased cleanliness and social distancing. Great food from the nicest couple. Check their Facebook, to see the daily menu.
