About
A Modern Refresh for Honolulu’s Tea Scene
Tucked into the lively streets of Honolulu, Mr. Tea Cafe serves as a go-to spot for those seeking high-quality, craft-focused beverages. The atmosphere is bright and efficient, stripped back to highlight the clarity of their ingredients. You won't find over-the-top neon decor here; instead, the focus remains entirely on the tall, chilled plastic cups layered with precision.
The Art of the Brew
The menu leans heavily into contemporary tea culture, featuring everything from classic milk teas to more adventurous fruit-infused blends. Their signature approach involves using fresh tea leaves rather than powders, which gives the drinks a genuine, earthy depth. The taro and matcha offerings are local crowd favorites, usually balanced with just the right amount of sweetness to let the actual tea profile stand out.
The Local Experience
Whether you are grabbing a quick pick-me-up before exploring the neighborhood or meeting a friend for a casual afternoon catch-up, the space moves at a steady, upbeat pace. Be prepared for the music to be a bit energetic—it is definitely a place for conversation rather than quiet study. Keep in mind that the storefront can get quite crowded during the mid-afternoon rush, so if you are driving, give yourself an extra minute to maneuver the nearby street parking. It is a no-frills, honest shop that values the craftsmanship of a well-poured beverage over flashy presentation.

Workers are helpful and friendly, the tea is well, tea. In this day and age it isn't the tea that differentiates all these boba places. They're standout which keeps us coming back. Is their coffee jelly. So far everywhere else I've tried on the island and on the mainland has not come close

Love, love, love! I had some friends visiting the island for the first time, and they actually found this place. Since then, grabbing this at least once a week is a must. I get the strawberry milk tea with soy milk, 25% sugar, with boba. It is really good! The workers are really friendly and were a great help on my first time in. It is tiny but super chill. I noticed every time I grabbed a drink, that place is usually filled with people working on their laptops and having a drink, which is really nice. If I lived closer, I would totally hang out there.

Go to place for any kind of "bubble tea" drink. I love that they have "sweetness level"options. I usually find bubble tea to be too sweet, so I'll order the 25% sweetness here and it's perfect~(not overly sweet tasting). Favorite Drink is Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with boba/tapioca I visited recently in 2022 and like the new drink-ware - seems like it uses less plastic Tried the blended Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Boba and it was refreshing and blended smoothly. Service was friendly and helpful. It was nice to see patrons sitting both indoors and outdoors at Mr Tea Cafe
