Whether you are dining on the patio or near the bar, the vibrant energy of the Waikiki shoreline serves as the perfect backdrop for this island-favorite destination.

Exploring the Monkeypod Kitchen Menu

The monkeypod kitchen menu is a love letter to Hawaii’s culinary heritage, focusing on fresh, farm-to-table ingredients that highlight the flavors of the islands. From sustainable seafood to creative hand-tossed pizzas, every dish is prepared with meticulous attention to detail. It is widely considered one of the best value-for-money experiences in the area, offering a premium atmosphere without the pretense often found in luxury beachfront dining.

Menu Highlights & Must-Try Dishes

No trip to this Waikiki hotspot is complete without sampling the iconic monkeypod kitchen mai tai. Famous for its signature honey-lilikoi foam, this cocktail has earned a cult following for its perfect balance of tart and sweet. For food, the Ahi Poke Tacos are a must; they feature fresh, locally caught tuna served in a crispy shell that guests rave about. Another crowd-pleaser is the Macadamia Nut Crusted Fresh Fish, which brings a buttery, nutty crunch that defines island cuisine. If you have room for dessert, the decadent lime pie is consistently cited by reviewers as a perfect end to the meal.

Insider Tips for Monkeypod Kitchen Reservations

Securing monkeypod kitchen reservations is highly recommended, especially if you hope to snag a table with a view of Diamond Head or the ocean. Due to its popularity with both locals and tourists, tables can fill up weeks in advance during peak travel seasons. If you find the books are full, try visiting during the weekday "Happy Hour" window, where walk-ins for the bar area are more common. For prime dinner service, booking at least 14 days ahead is your best strategy for a stress-free evening.

Location & Parking Tips

Located at 2169 Kalia Road, Monkeypod Kitchen is conveniently situated within the Outrigger Waikiki Reef. For guests driving, the hotel offers convenient valet parking services. Street parking in Waikiki is notoriously difficult, so relying on the valet or nearby public parking garages is highly recommended. Once finished with your meal, you are just steps away from the iconic Waikiki Beach walk, making it an ideal starting point for an evening stroll along the sand.

Love the ocean breeze, shade, and good food.... gotta go. They're at the back of the hotel and the ocean meets the dining deck. But the most important experience is the DIVA, Jeff, he made it all the more enjoyable. Ahi tacos were amazing... with some garlic fries too boot. Jeff helped my wife find the right cocktail, and while I enjoyed the taste of the mai-tai, it wasn't for her and he nailed it withthe Ube Rey... more of a dessert cocktail. As for me, the manfuego was magnificent, spicy with some tahin on the rim. Lamb sausage pizza was a great lunch choice. Good luck getting Jeff as im certain he's requested à ton. Update: 2nd time in, Brandon rocked it: chill vibes and great attitude.

Everything about this place was amazing. If you are in the Waikiki Beach area and know you are going to have to spend a good amount of money no matter where you go to eat you might as well go somewhere that is a great value for the money. This place is not cheap, but you get WAY MORE for your money here than you do anywhere else in the area. We tried the pizza and it's amazing, sea bass special that day was the best, bolgogi pork tacos were phenomenal, you really can't go wrong. We loved it and will be back next time we are in the area!

10/10 experience! Food was amazing. Ordered the garlic truffle fries and Mai Thais to start. For main dishes we ordered the saimin and macadamia nut crusted fish. Everything was absolutely mouth watering. Our server Anthony was very personable and helpful with my questions about the menu. Location was great with a view of the water. Would absolutely return!!

We loved the beachfront vibe and the love music at lunchtime on a Sunday! We ate at the bar and Yukie took good care of us. Amazing Bulgogi pork tacos and the cheeseburger was fantastic. Add the truffle garlic fries! You can’t go wrong with a Mai Tai and a draft beer either! This is a go to favorite. Prices are ok for Hawaii, except for the wine, which is high. VictorB

Had a really great dinner at Monkeypod Kitchen. The whole experience felt polished. Service was friendly, relaxed, and attentive, and the atmosphere had a great energy to it. The food was honestly excellent across the board. The fish tacos were fresh and packed with flavour, the seared ahi was perfectly cooked, and even the salads were great. The shrimp skillet was another standout. You can tell there’s real attention to quality and balance in the menu. Dessert absolutely lived up to the hype too. The lime pie was unreal. Cocktails were creative and well-made, and overall everything felt fresh and thoughtful without trying too hard. Definitely an excellent meal in Waikiki. I highly recommend you check them out.

The food was so delicious and our server, Kainalu was so kind and was very helpful in deciding which dishes we should get. The shrimp appetizer was so amazing and honest probably the most delicious shrimp I’ve ever had. The poke tacos were also amazing and the fish was so fresh. Many restaurants never get Caesar salad right but our Caesar salad was perfect. If you are contemplating what restaurant to go to, this is the one. Great food and great service.

We waited 1 hour for a simple egg breakfast. We actually really liked this restaurant this is our second day in a row we went here. But our server Erica* tainted my experience now. I watched two tables that sat 20 minutes after us get their food and we continue to wait for a total of 45 minutes. I had to flag down our server to notify her. And she went to check on our food and brought it out 1 minute later, so that tells me it's been sitting in the kitchen. I wouldn't have minded if the kitchen was just genuinely slammed and that's what was taking so long but it was very frustrating to see other tables receive their food while we are waiting. That means we were completely forgotten about. Especially when it's just a simple egg breakfast. And there was no genuine effort from Eriva to rectify this issue. So they will get a solid one star and losing a returning customer. We're literally staying at Outrigger Waikiki Reef in her here until Tuesday and now I'm not going back because of this terrible experience.

One of the best dining experiences we had in Waikiki. Perfect morning, we were seated in the corner with views of Diamond Head. The ocean shore was beautiful. Food was spectacular and everything we ordered had great flavors. The Benedicts are all awesome. Hollendaise sauce was buttery and silky. Perfect balance with notes of lemon. Desert pies were pure perfection. Definitely get Monkeypod on your list when visiting Waikiki

From the moment we arrived, the experience was wonderful. The hostesses were incredibly kind and attentive. Although we had a reservation, we did have a short wait since I requested a table by the ocean, but it was absolutely worth it. Once seated, Maca took excellent care of us and made the experience even more enjoyable with thoughtful, friendly service. The food was delicious across the board. The mushroom pizza was a standout and quickly became a favorite, and the macadamia nut–crusted fish was perfectly cooked and flavorful. For dessert, we tried both the strawberry cream pie and the banana cream pie. They were rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. A beautiful setting, great service, and consistently excellent food. We’ll definitely be back.

A Lovely Spot: Monkey Pod I'm so glad I stumbled upon Monkey Pod! This cute restaurant has an AMAZING view, and the service is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and the manager is a rockstar! Try their Passionfruit Foam - it's a taste sensation! And, OMG, their Mahi-Mahi Burger is delish! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection... except for the soggy fries (just sayin'). We also tried the Jerk Chicken, which, unfortunately, needed a bit more cooking time. But the manager was super cool about it and gifted us a comp card to come back and try more dishes. We took them up on that offer and went back for potstickers, apps, and drinks - everything was yummy! Service was consistently great, and the atmosphere is just lovely. If I were you, I'd go for drinks, apps, and the Mahi-Mahi sandwich or burger - that's where they shine! Worth a visit! P.S. As for me, I prefer my Mai tai’s on the sweet, so Mai Tai cocktails at the Dukes or Mai Tai bars are still my fave!
