Dinner with a Waikiki Backdrop

Perched overlooking the iconic Pacific coastline, Moana Terrace offers a breezy, open-air setting that captures the quintessential essence of a Honolulu evening. This space is defined by its sweeping views of the Waikiki shoreline, where the rhythmic sound of crashing waves provides a natural soundtrack to your meal. It is a prime spot for those looking to escape the crowded sidewalks below for a more relaxed, elevated perspective.

Island-Style Bites and Brews

The menu focuses on straightforward, approachable Hawaiian-inspired comfort food. Guests frequently gravitate toward the classic furikake-crusted fish or hearty island-style sliders, which pair perfectly with a local craft beer or a house-made tropical cocktail. The kitchen maintains a focus on fresh, local ingredients, bringing a straightforward flavor profile that avoids unnecessary pretense. You will find that the service is laid-back, mirroring the relaxed pace of life on Oahu.

Know Before You Go

Because the terrace is entirely open to the elements, it captures the salt air and occasional gust of wind—so keep an eye on your napkins. It is an ideal destination for casual sunset drinks after a long day at the beach or a low-key dinner with a group that values scenery over formality. If you are planning a visit, keep in mind that the elevator wait can occasionally get a bit long during peak sunset hours, but the cooling trade winds and the view of the Pacific horizon are well worth the brief delay. Whether you are a visitor navigating the hotel district or a local looking for a relaxed spot with a view, this terrace remains a reliable staple for an evening under the Honolulu sky.

SO amazing! We were there for the luau. What a fun and educational experience! These dancers and musicuans were so great. The host was knowledgeable and fun. Our main server was professional and very nice. A nearby family was pretty rude to her but she responded with grace and professionalism that I would've not been able to maintain. I think her name is Karen...she's "mature," experienced and so competent.

Staying at this resort was a fantastic experience that combined luxury with a perfect location. The property is beautiful and sits right across from the beach, making it incredibly easy to go from the room to the sand in just a couple of minutes. I especially loved the pool area, which was a great place to relax and take in the views after a long day of exploring. The staff was professional and welcoming, ensuring that every detail of my stay was handled with care. With plenty of dining options on-site and easy access to all the excitement of the local area, it served as an ideal home base for a memorable and refreshing vacation.

Loved the hotel rooms, the facilities given and the pool area! Everything felt really clean and comfortable. The only disappointment was that the use of the balcony was prohibited even though we booked a room with balcony as well as there were some constructional works done in many parts of the hotel. That was sometimes noisy and annoying. But except that I loved it!

Update: Parking nightmare with $65 per night It’s a shared parking building and everyday we spent over 30 minutes circling in parking lot and there is simply no spot to park. Very bad managed. Very disappointing stay. When we arrived, the shower gel in the room was already empty. We asked the front desk and were promised it would be delivered, but after two days it still had not been replaced. We also booked an ocean view room, but the view was only a very limited partial ocean view that was not clearly represented when booking. Parking is $65 per day, yet the parking garage was consistently full. Several times we had to circle and wait 10+ minutes just for the possibility of finding a spot. The room itself felt poorly maintained and unclean. The light flickered whenever the AC was running, the sink faucet was either scalding hot or cold with almost no middle ground, and the quartz surfaces appeared damaged and dirty. Even the elevator felt wobbly and in need of maintenance. Overall, between the missing amenities upon arrival, misleading room view, parking issues, cleanliness concerns, and maintenance problems, the hotel did not provide the quality experience its rates suggest. I would not stay here again.

Overall, the stay was okay, especially the location. If you are here to surf every day, this is the place to choose. The room was nice, and we had a great view of both the beach and the mountains. However, the room felt outdated. Some lights …

Excellent hotel. Lots of staff and great service. Easy access to the beach, restaurants and stores. Food is overpriced but that is every tourist place in Hawaii. It was nice to walk everywhere and see the beach and shops and walk back …

We had a wonderful 7-day stay at Waikiki Marriott Resort & Spa. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help, making our vacation very enjoyable. I would have rated our stay a 10/10. The only reason I did not give a perfect score was that during our last two nights, a large group of teenagers moved into the room next to ours. They were loud late at night, including playing music around 11 PM, which disrupted our sleep. The front desk responded promptly when I called and sent security to address the situation, which I appreciated. Aside from that issue, our experience was excellent. I would recommend that the hotel review quiet-hour policies with guests at check-in to help prevent similar situations in the future. Overall, we had a great stay and would gladly return.

We just left after our week long stay and we were very disappointed. We received this stay as a wedding gift from my father-in-law. He has a very high status with Marriott and we were told, even though he was not staying with us, we would still received all his benefits and bonuses. This was a lie. We received nothing of the sort. That wasn't that big of a deal but it was annoying to be told one thing and the opposite happen. We also decided to extent our stay by one day back in February. We were told that would not be a problem but they would have to book it as a separate stay. They told us, over the phone when we extended, that we would be able to stay in our same room and we wouldn't have to check out then back in. This was another lie. We were forced to leave our room because they had placed someone else in our room. So we did not have a room for about 3 or 4 hours because our next room was not ready yet. Our main complaint was with the parking garage. The garage is practically one lane up and down with very small and blind turns. It wouldn't be too big of a problem if there was a parking alternative even if you had a small walk. But there is nothing and they charge accordingly. They charge $65... A DAY... AS A GUEST!! I get you can't fix something like an entire parking garage easily nor quickly. But to charge that price for that awful of a parking garage is criminal. Since we were staying for a longer time, we asked if they offered a weekly rate and we were swiftly told no. Not to beat a dead horse but that wouldn't have been a problem if we received the perks, like free parking, we were promised to begin with. The rooms were nice enough but the balconies are SKETCHY. They are old and some (luckily not ours) are literally falling apart. Overall, I would say this place is very much not worth the money and we were disappointed with our stay.
