Mian Honolulu

I was visiting Oahu with my husband for a few days, and we always look for good Chinese food spots wherever we travel. Mian was amazing and definitely hit the spot. The noodles were chewy and perfect! We got the beef noodle soup, the pork dumplings, and the hot and sour sweet potato noodles. All of them were very good, highly recommend! If we lived here, we definitely would order from this establishment all of the time.

I had a good experience here at Mian yesterday. The family decided to roam out of Waikiki to try some traditional Chinese Noodle cuisine, as Waikiki has gotten a bit expensive. As we entered the restaurant, the ambiance had a traditional/modern look, which was very pleasant. We decided to order their traditional beef noodle soup. When you order, make sure you select the free complimentary noodles if you're hungry. The food came out, the presentation was great, and the initial bite of the noodles instantly took me back home. My wife's noodle soup was a bit spicy for her, but the noodles were very good. I ordered a clear broth beef noodle soup which was also very good. The entire order was roughly around the same we paid back home. Thus, the value is definitely worth every penny, especially in Hawaii.

A very traditional Chinese noodle house. The most popular items here are the beef noodle soup and the dumplings. Everyone working here speaks fluent Chinese. That’s how you know it’s super authentic. The word mian means noodle in Chinese. Other than rice, mian is the second most popular carb in China. Mian here is excellent.

Food was authentic and Delicious although definitely a bit spicier than I’m used to. Highly recommend.

Great noodle spot with spicy house beef noodles. Lots of chili oil flavor. The meat itself was good and its easy to order extra noodles. Appetizers were good, I recommend the chicken.

The food was acceptable, although the flavours are tasty and slightly spicy (for the House Beef Noodles). The rolled pancakes with beef slices were interestingly nice, had purple cabbage in it (a first seeing vegetable apart from cucumber slices in such dish). Ambience of the place was rather quiet and unassuming, there were no other patrons during the lunch time except for some people who came to do takeouts instead.

Update Aug 1, 2021 We had dinner delivered today to find the menu had changed. The food tastes much better than before. We really enjoyed it. Dumplings, noodles with some extra toppings, beef rolls, steam vegetables were great, except one of the house beef noodles didn’t come with the soup. So we added chili sauce to the noodle it tasted good but it is not the same. ———————————————— Older review Friendly and good service. They offer mung beans water I thought it was very healthy. Valet in the building. It is in the mechanical tower parking with the parking attendant. If you are in a hurry, it’s best to park somewhere flat and walk over.

Good Sichuan style noodle restaurant to go. My family and I ate here several times since pre-covid. The food here is always delicious. My go to item is always Zajiang noodles with Peas little or very spicy. It's a nice balance of flavor. It can get spicy unless you mix it very well, most of the spicy soup will be at the bottom. The house fried chicken and wontons are also delicious. Since covid, they no longer use paper menus. Scan the QR code and click the link. In the link, scroll select and order. You can pay later. If you seem lost, ask them...it may be a while before they help you. Service will bring out your food and provide water. Pay by going to the cashier in the front. I like the atmosphere, it's comfortable and has a good setting for families and groups to eat in.

Wontons were cooked perfectly, the sauce had a good kick and a hint of sweetness to it. The best wontons I had on the island. The wrapper was not too thick and the filling was very very juicy. Chengdu Zhajiang Noodle was delicious but maybe because we got it for takeout the noodle was cooked a little past aldente. Sauce, again, was delicious. The portion of the noodle was huge. Beef pancake roll was tasty and the bread was flaky and good. We ordered at 11 and food was ready by 11:20. Amazing service! Edit after eating in: everything was AMAZING.

Fast service. Deliciously addictive sichuan flavors! Will be back to try the other types of dumplings. Freshly made noodles is a must. Don't miss pumpkin rice cakes (try as appetizer rather than dessert). Best vegan mapo tofu ever! Go all the way with "very spicy" as it's tolerable compared to "Thai spicy". Best paired with house plum juice as it has a balanced sour, bitter, and smokey taste. Most uniquely different dessert is the ice jelly sundae-must try for the first time.
