Had an amazing brunch experience at Merriman’s Waikiki! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The restaurant has a beautiful location and a really nice atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. I truly enjoyed my time there, from the great service to the relaxing vibe. It was totally worth it, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Waikiki or looking for a great brunch spot in Hawaii.

We had an amazing experience at Merriman’s! The food was outstanding, specifically the hummus, roasted chicken, and beef bourguighon! Perfectly cooked, fresh spices, flavors were amazing. We also were so fortunate to have Kelani outside the singing and playing guitar, he made our night that much more special. Next time we’re in Honolulu we will 100% come back!

The cheeseburger was amazing. The fresh bread was delicious and it paired well with the parmesan truffle fries. The macadamia nut fresh catch was just as good. Our shrimp appetizer came out after our meals, but it was delicious. Our server gave us extra bread and we used the bread to soak up the remaining sauce it was so good. Our server also brought us a scoop of their vanilla ice cream and prosecco since the appetizer was late. It was very thoughtful and the ice cream was delicious. There was also live music which was nice and not overwhelming. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

we came here while visiting family in hawaii. my husband and I were seated outside and they had a live musician who brought a wonderful ambiance to the environment. Brandon M was our server and he did an amazing job taking care of us. He was on top of our drinks and giving us updates on our food. I got the fresh chicken and my husband got the steak frites. both meals were amazing! perfectly cooked & seasoned, juicy chicken and tender steak. we will recommend to anyone visiting Hawaii!

Merriman’s was AMAZING!! We were seated kindly and quickly per our reservation. Our server Brandon was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was divine. The leek soup-some of the best I had. The sturgeon- also some of the best I had. And to top it all off, the bread pudding was DIVINE. One of our drinks was forgotten, and we did have to ask for it multiple times. We did order 2 bread puddings, but our server assumed we wanted 1 to share, so only 1 was brought-which we ended up being ok with. Overall we had an amazing experience, I would just recommend to encourage your staff and servers to be more detail oriented.

We went for lunch at the food took forever (45min on a weekday), and the waitress never stopped by to check on us or to update us on the timing. The table next to us ordered a soup starter around the same time we ordered lunch, and their appetizer soups took 30+min to arrive. Crazy! The food was good, but not worth the wait, especially at $20 for a small appetizer salad. The service was friendly, but inattentive.

We recently celebrated our 37th anniversary outside at the Honolulu location. Loved the musician playing that evening 23 Dec too. We had the absolute pleasure of being looked after by Reid. He is a very genuine and kind person and shared that he is a newlywed himself. You are lucky to have him on your team. The food and service were amazing and we recommended this location to other people we spoke to while vacationing in December 2025. We will be back to dine here.

If you want excellent dining at incredible value, Merriman’s is a must especially if you’re visiting Honolulu on vacation. Why? Check out the delicious fish ans chips (Happy Hour price=$12!) along with Szechuan green beans (separately)- you’ll want a second order! With a kind and personable service from Alyssa- you’ll recommend this to locals too! Happy Hour is 3-5:30!

The review is long overdue, but it still stands true. NO REGARD FOR VEGETARIANS! As a high end restaurant, I would expect to have amazing dishes for EVERYONE. Merriman’s is a nice restaurant with some amazing dishes (organic chicken on a skillet as an example), and we went there few times. BUT! I put 2 stars because the disregard for vegetarians is shocking. I went with my husband who is vegetarian, and everything was great until we ordered a main dish for him (falafel). My dish has arrived all good-looking and nice-sized (chicken on a skillet) and his dish looked like a tiny meal for toddlers. It was also bland on top of that… It is a MAIN dish! And the only dish for vegetarians!! (That was about a 6 months ago; now they have mushroom ravioli “seasonally”, but I still doubt it would be that exciting) Why is “main” falafel dish made so sad and tiny?!? Its ruining experience for couples where one person is vegetarian. As a high end restaurant - come on. DO BETTER. Create equally excellent and exciting main dishes for vegetarians.

Beautiful restaurant. High-end service and environment, but the food was mixed. My steak was good, but the fish was bland. A few other dishes we had were too salty. French onion soup was delicious.
