McDonald's - Honolulu (Kalakaua Ave)
About
Late-Night Cravings in the Heart of Waikiki
Situated right on the bustling strip of Kalakaua Avenue, this McDonald's is a constant pulse in the middle of Honolulu's tourist epicenter. Whether you are coming off a late surf session at Waikiki Beach or just finishing a walk through the nearby high-end boutiques, this location offers a familiar, reliable pitstop. You will hear the constant hum of scooters and tourists blending with the rhythmic sizzle of the fryers as soon as you step inside.
Island-Style Convenience
While the menu features global staples, locals know to look for those unique Hawaiian menu adjustments that often pop up in island locations. The dining area is efficiently laid out to accommodate the heavy foot traffic of travelers on the go. Be prepared for a lively, high-energy environment; this isn't the spot for a quiet, intimate dinner, but rather a fast-paced hub where the line moves with surprising precision despite the heavy crowds. Pro tip: space is at a premium here, so grab your tray and head toward the open-air seating sections if you want to soak in the humid tropical breeze while you eat.
Why This Spot Fits Your Honolulu Schedule
The biggest quirk of this specific restaurant is its sheer accessibility. In a city where parking can be a challenge, being positioned directly in the Waikiki corridor means you can easily stop in while exploring the neighborhood on foot. It is the perfect spot for travelers who need a quick breakfast before hitting the waves or a calorie-dense late-night snack after a long night out in the city. If you find the lobby a bit too loud or crowded, the grab-and-go efficiency is arguably the best in the area for getting you back to the sand quickly.

Nice place to eat, prices somewhat expensive compared to other areas, but justifiable considering its Waikiki location . Ordered a McChicken and waited 15 mins and 2 out of 4 kiosks were out of order . Food quality was good as like other locations but the service speed could be worked on . Some birds also entered the establishment which was pleasant but overall nice restaurant with some small things that could be worked on to improve the atmosphere and staff was kind and patient to customers .

Stopped by McDonald’s in Waikiki for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to find rice on the menu. It was a nice local touch and a great alternative to the usual breakfast options. The food was fresh, service was quick, and the restaurant was clean and well-organized despite being busy. A convenient spot for a quick and satisfying breakfast before exploring Waikiki 🍚🥚🥓🍔🌊🏝️

One of the best locations for a McDonald's I have ever visited; literally just across the street from Waikiki beach. You can see the beach and ocean from the restaurant. There is patio seating outside as well to enjoy those beautiful days. The McDonald's has no public restroom (there is one closeby on the beach across the street). At the time of this review, there was still a soda fountain machine for customers. Food was a bit of a wait as it was busy but tasted fresh. There are a few kiosks to order food from, but no drive through. Plenty of disabled seating as well. Breakfast served here too.

Decent for a quick breakfast. Food was hot and fresh. Had some local Hawaiian cuisine on the menu when I was there. Slow service though.... Also, the homeless out front were some what harassing... and they blocked the entrance to the resturant.

Was curious to see if they had anything special on their menu. Not only was their service poor and delayed, but I literally saw the cashier employee try to give me the burger that they had mistakenly put on someone else's plate. They still tried to serve me the same burger after someone else had touched it. That returned food is supposed to be put in the waste bin and a new burger made for the delayed customer. This all caused additional delay since I started reprimanding the girl behind the counter and asking her to have a new burger made for me. I let her know that I used to work at McDonald's and knew exactly what the protocol should be for food handling.

McDonald’s in Waikiki is still McDonald’s. I enjoyed the local dishes. Cheaper than other restaurants serving the same. Always busy but wait time weren’t as long as expected.

Ordered the limited time deluxe golden crispy chicken sandwich in a meal with blue raspberry fanta. Fries weren't as good as usual. Overcooked, so they were kind of hard. The sandwich was good and the chicken was tender. Fanta was the usual standard blue raspberry syrup. Major complaint is the store has no washroom. Where do people go? Staff are cleaning the tables, but the floor is full of morsels of food. Busy location and many people come in swim suits, so seats might be wet.

Always order on the app before I arrive and not only do you get great deals on food ( including free items) but also dramatically decreases the wait time. We like to order ice cream sundays and bring them home and keep them in the freezer for late night snacks.

We had a lovely family lunch at McDonald’s today and were really pleased with the experience! The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and there was plenty of available seating. It felt comfortable and calm inside. We ordered a Happy Meal for our baby (he’s 10 months old), and while he’s still very little, he enjoyed tasting some of the baby-friendly items. The Minecraft-themed toy that came with it was a sweet bonus — he loved playing with it while we ate! The food was fresh and warm. We had to wait just a few minutes, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Staff was friendly and everything was well-prepared. It’s great to know there’s a family-friendly place like this where even the youngest guests are welcomed. Thank you for the great service!
