A Waikiki Convenience Staple

Situated right in the heart of Waikiki, this McDonald's serves as a reliable pit stop for travelers and locals navigating the dense energy of Kuhio Avenue. Whether you are coming off the beach or heading to a late-night show, the familiar glow of the Golden Arches provides a predictable refuge amidst the bustling Honolulu tourist corridor.

What to Expect on Your Plate

Beyond the global classics, this location is known for incorporating island-inspired flair into its menu. If you are here for breakfast, look for the local favorite: the Portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice plate. It is a quintessential Hawaii fast-food experience that fits perfectly into a morning spent near the Pacific coast.

The Waikiki Atmosphere

The space is functional and high-traffic. You will notice the constant hum of international visitors and the quick turnover of patrons grabbing meals before their next adventure. Because of its prime location in one of Hawaii's busiest districts, the interior can get quite lively, and seating often fills up fast during peak afternoon hours. It is an urban environment, so do not expect a quiet retreat; instead, anticipate a fast-paced setting where you can refuel efficiently before heading back out to enjoy the nearby shops and sandy shores.

Quick Tips for Visitors

Since space is at a premium throughout this part of Honolulu, parking can be a bit of a challenge. Most people visiting this spot are arriving on foot from nearby high-rise hotels or utilizing the public transit lines that run constantly along Kuhio. Keep your eyes peeled for the self-ordering kiosks, which usually help speed up the process when the lines snake toward the entrance.

You can't go wrong with McDonald's. It follows you wherever you are. However, the US price is slightly higher than Canadian price. In Hawaii, pigeons and humans dine together 😁😁😁

Busy McDonald's in Honolulu near Waikiki Beach. This one has a couple of ordering kiosks and counter service as well (no drive-thru). Plenty of seating all around with a wide variety of table styles. Has also a nice garden area in front to the left side as you are facing it. Food was service quickly and fresh. There is no public restroom here (or many places in Honolulu unfortunately) and so it receives a 4 star review. Breakfast is served here in the morning.

24 minutes for a bottle of water and a fish burger, this place is a LAST RESORT option. I will sooner buy street food from the homeless than come back to this McDonald’s, the service was catered to get customers in and out and it shows when paying customers wait 24 minuets in the eating area for food. Considering their sign asks the customers to limit their stay to 30 minuets to not INCONVENIENT future customers, basically telling us to wait 24 minutes for a fish burger and bottle of water and only leave 6 minuets to eat? What’s worse is no restroom for paying customers.

Since we are in Hawaii, I wanted to try the SPAM breakfast. I like the idea of rice with breakfast. It was SPAM, eggs and rice, and McDonald's, fast and easy. My meal cane with fork and knife, salt and pepper packets and soy sauce, which was definitely needed for the rice. The kiosk was out of paper for receipts and sometimes they would call a receipt number instead of the table number.

Staff work fast and efficient, orders come quickly. They are polite even with many customers. Seating area is clean and spacious. Food is exactly what you expect, reliable and comforting. After long day, it feels safe. 安心の味。McDonald’s Kuhio Ave is not special, but always useful. McDonald’s Kuhio Ave plays important role.

Pros: Food comes fast. Fresh cooked chicken nuggets. The outlook of the building looks cool. —————— Cons: Stale fries, overcooked spicy crispy chicken. No restroom. Which is ridiculous.

Loved using the automated menu ordering and the fast service. Nice and clean. My granddaughter loved the meal with the Portuguese sausage. We visited this place twice.

A nice newer McDonald's clean and well kept, but the service is very slow. It took 10 minutes to get a happy meal and fountain drink. There were others who had to wait longer, and yet there were less than 20 people in the whole store.

A well located McDonald's that is within walking distance of Waikiki beach and all major hotels in the area. There is plenty of seating, self-kiosks and relatively fast service. This restaurant is very spacious thanks to the high ceilings. I had no problem.
