About
Island Flavors Meet Local Convenience
Situated right in the heart of the Aina Haina Shopping Center, this McDonald's serves as a reliable pit stop for East Honolulu locals. Unlike mainland counterparts, you will find a menu tailored to Hawaii’s unique tastes, including the fan-favorite Spam, eggs, and rice breakfast platter, or a cup of warm Portuguese sausage to start your morning. The golden arches here are a familiar sight for commuters heading into town or families returning from a beach day along the Kalanianaʻole Highway.
The Aina Haina Experience
Stepping inside, the atmosphere is classic and efficient. You are greeted by the steady hum of the ordering kiosks and the distinct, savory aroma of fresh-fried hash browns. It is an ideal spot for a quick, predictable meal when you need to grab something fast without skipping out on a bit of local comfort. The dining area is clean and functional, though it does get quite busy during the school pickup hour, making it a lively place to observe the neighborhood pulse.
Practical Tips for Your Visit
Parking in the shopping center can get competitive during peak afternoon hours, so have a little patience while navigating the lot. Whether you are grabbing a late-night snack after surfing nearby or fueling up for a drive up the coast, the staff here maintains a quick pace. It remains a straightforward, no-frills choice for those who appreciate consistent quality and the specific regional menu items that make Hawaiian McDonald's locations stand out from the rest of the world.

As a tourist, I was excited to try the special Hawaiian pies, but they were all sold out. It was really disappointing since I was looking forward to experiencing something unique to Hawaii.

The crew was so unprofessional. There was no communication with the staff and customer. I asked fir a large shake when I got there they gave me a small told them it was wrong but her answer was I charged you for small. Asked for well done fries she just stared insane till I asked for a manager. Even the Manager was clueless. Where have all the good workers gone. Very poor service.

I can confidently say this is the worst McDonald’s I have ever experienced — and that’s really saying something. If you’re looking for cold food, long waits, and a side of attitude, this is apparently the premier destination in Hawaii. The fries tasted like they were prepared during a previous shift and thoughtfully saved for me. My meal was cold enough that I briefly wondered if it had been stored in a beach cooler. Nothing says “quality service” quite like unwrapping your food and realizing it’s already lost the will to live. As for the customer service — absolutely unforgettable. The staff managed to make ordering feel like a personal inconvenience to them. It’s impressive, honestly, how consistently unfriendly the interaction was from start to finish. No aloha spirit here — unless “aloha” now means “please leave.” Overall, the experience was impressively miserable. There are plenty of other places to eat on the island. Do yourself a favor and choose literally any of them.

Used points for a cone. Stood there for 5 mins, no line. Employees decided to do a bunch of other stuff first. Then they give me a 1/2 sized cone. After I sat down he made me stand back up and walk over to get my cold after standing there for 5 minutes. Then my father came in and tried to order it took them 20 minutes to figure it out cuz they are completely incompetent. He got another cone it was also less than half size. They also got the price wrong. Yes 1 2 3

Taro pie was good. Took FOREVER to get my pop and taro pie, the service was TERRIBLE. The manager (?) was rude and didn’t care that I didn’t get my food even though my friends were half finished theirs. Everything else was fine.
