About
A Taste of Old School McCully
Tucked away in the heart of the McCully-Moiliili district, McCully Pantry serves as a reliable fuel stop for locals craving honest, no-frills Hawaiian comfort food. This isn't a place for white tablecloths; it is the quintessential Honolulu neighborhood spot where the scent of savory teriyaki and crispy fried proteins greets you the moment you walk through the door.
Menu Staples for the Daily Grind
Known for their classic plate lunches, the kitchen excels at local favorites that define the island’s quick-service scene. The menu leans heavily into familiar flavors—expect generous portions of mochiko chicken and perfectly glazed beef that hits the right balance of sweet and salty. It is the type of lunch you grab when you need something hearty to power through a workday in town.
The Neighborhood Rhythm
The atmosphere inside is brisk and functional. You will often hear the hum of the kitchen staff and the chatter of regulars lining up for their go-to orders. One thing to keep in mind: parking in this specific patch of Honolulu can be a tight squeeze, so it is often smarter to order ahead for takeout if you are in a rush. It is a straightforward, utilitarian establishment that values efficiency and flavor over decorative flair, making it a reliable pick for residents living near the Ala Wai or students commuting through the neighborhood.

Owner charges bogus fees to process credit/debit/ebt cards which are in breach of her contract with her card processors. Prices are way too high and owner shows no consideration of customers loyalty! I have lived next to this store for years and have spent countless amounts money there and have had the owner constantly inflating prices on me when I buy something consistently, she will try to charge me more than what’s on the tag or she will give back the wrong change when paying in cash. On top of that if you pay with a card she will charge you a 50 cent fee to use your card if you don’t meet her $20 minimum. Charging customers fees to process their cards is in violation of the contract she signed with the respective card processor. She charges a fee on processing EBT cards too which is a huge violation of her contract with the government. I have repeatedly tried to overlook these downsides and show loyalty to the owner throughout the years but she doesn’t care. I am finally done however and won’t shop there ever again!

Nice a clean convenience store. The old lady is super nice, please always respect as if she was you grandmother or mother working late hours because she has to. I gave her a tip and she was very appreciative. Thanks for keeping my Sapporo ice cold after working late at work.

McCully Pantry is a great convenience store with nice people staffing it. It's clean with a good variety of cold beverages, liquors, wine, snacks and an ATM. I stop in frequently and always get good service and and lots of smiles. Definitely one of the better convenience stores in the area.
