Liliha Bakery Waikiki
About
A Slice of Local Heritage in the Heart of Waikiki
Stepping into this expansive space at the International Market Place, the air is thick with the sweet, buttery scent of freshly baked goods. While the brand traces its roots back to the original 1950s outpost, this Waikiki location brings a polished energy to a legendary Honolulu institution. It is the go-to spot for locals and travelers alike who want a no-fuss, hearty meal that captures the essence of island comfort food.
Must-Try Island Comforts
You cannot talk about this landmark without mentioning the Coco Puffs. These signature chocolate-filled cream puffs are the main attraction for a reason, offering a perfect ratio of flaky pastry to rich, decadent filling. If you are here for a full meal, the Loco Moco is a staple—expect a generous heap of rice, a juicy patty, and that signature savory gravy that has defined their menu for decades. The kitchen moves fast, and while the dining room can get quite boisterous during the morning rush, it provides an authentic look at Honolulu’s bustling dining culture.
Practical Tips for Your Visit
Because this spot draws a constant crowd, be prepared for a bit of a wait if you arrive during peak breakfast hours. The service is efficient and straightforward, reflecting the no-nonsense hospitality that Hawaii is known for. Whether you are grabbing a quick box of pastries to take down to the nearby shoreline or settling into a booth for a long brunch, this bakery is an essential stop for anyone wanting to eat like a local in the middle of the island’s most famous district.

Visited the Waikiki location since we were in the area. We were able to find a seat pretty quickly even though we didnt have reservations. Even though we wanted to sit inside, they sat us outside. The outdoor seating area was surprisingly cool and shaded. The atmosphere is pretty noisy but we were able to still converse. Staff were very busy, at times hard to get ahold of or notify for basic items like extra napkins, another plate, and more water. Only request things from your server cause the other guys won't get what you requested. Food was alright. Liliha was never a fancy, fine dining type of place. Classic local/american food is sold here. They standard warm table side bread and bright red color fruit jam was provided...but they no long provide you constant free bread table side. After the first round of bread is finish, you have to pay for the next ones. Lame. Our table got the garlic chicken, Hawaiian blt sandwich and the mushroom chicken entrée. My mushroom chicken entrée was good. Chicken was crispy, tender and hot. The mushroom chicken sauce is savory and slightly salty. The hawaiian blt was good, the spouts was refreshing and the bacon was crispy. We ate the pineapple separately haha...the garlic chicken was nothing special. It was not memorable and would skip it next time. Would I come back, no. Compared to the other location its definitely cheaper but still...nothing I would crave or desire to eat again.

Came up as a must try while in Waikiki but it was very average. I only got the cream puff which is supposedly the best seller… the pastry was kinda dry & the filling tasted artificial & too sweet. Was very thick too. Perhaps I am spoilt by the fantastic custard we have in the uk… kinda wish I tried the donut instead

Great breakfast. Loco moco with white rice was to much food for me and I'm a big guy. The gravy and rice was fantastic. Wife got the NY strip and eggs. Very good. Looking at coming back again during our trip.

I got a dozen of variety of malasadas and they are all so good 👍 The staff was very helpful and respectful when I asked various questions regarding the sweet products. Malasadas are not very popular in Vancouver where I live and only in Hawaii I got the chance to taste this sugary treat. Here's a tip when bringing malasadas home on a 6-hr flight. Wrap the original box in plastic or in a ziplock and handle it with care in your hand-carry. It's going to lose the sugar dusting but the taste remains the same. Serve immediately 😁 My personal favorite is the unassuming mochi bite.

Had a great stop at Liliha Bakery Waikiki@ International Market Place. The food was fresh and satisfying—especially the steak and shrimp plate and my daughter liked strawberry shake—and the outdoor seating made it a really relaxing break from the crowds. Loved the outdoor seating and relaxed atmosphere—great spot for a casual, satisfying break. The vibe is really nice—would definitely come back in the evening to grab a drink at the bar.

Food was amazing! Went there for lunch and sat outside. My kids could not stop talking about how delicious the pancakes (2 stack) were. I’ve never heard them talk so much about food like that!😆 Food was fresh, large portions. Service was great They try to keep The birds off the patio by cleaning the tables quickly. They should get the hanging mirror bird deterrents that look like art. Highly recommend this place

We had the BLT with guacamole. It came with a side salad and skillet potatoes. It was worth every penny. The serving size is generous. My husband could only eat half of our sandwiches. The guava plantation tea is delish! We got a few poi donuts to go. They were very good! Worth it for sure! The restaurant has a nice vibe. They staff was friendly and I enjoyed the background music they played. It was a great dinning experience.

Nice place to enjoy a dinner. You can buy bakery only. Need to sign up on the wait list but the wait is not too bad. I tried the loco moco with fried rice after reading the comments and it is definitely interesting touch with a great taste. The puffs I tried are okay. Service is great here!

We had a really tasty dinner here! My husband and I shared a 16 oz prime rib at medium rare and it satisfied us. Auntie ordered the miso butter fish and that was as equally delicious. All the bakery treats looked enticing but we unfortunately didn’t have room. Next time!

From the moment I stepped into Lilah’s Bakery, I knew I was in for something special—but nothing could have prepared me for the flavor journey that awaited. I ordered the smoked pineapple pork belly, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of divine. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender, each bite infused with a smoky richness and kissed with the subtle sweetness of pineapple. The seasoning was masterful—bold yet balanced—creating a harmony of flavors that made me fall in love at first bite. The rice served alongside was a quiet hero: fluffy, fragrant, and cooked to absolute perfection. It soaked up the juices from the pork belly like a dream, elevating every mouthful. And the service? Impeccable. My bartender was a total gem—attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure my experience was top-tier. They checked in just the right amount, making me feel welcomed and cared for without ever being intrusive. Lilah’s isn’t just a bakery—it’s a sanctuary for food lovers. I left with a full belly and a happy heart. Can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. If you’re visiting Honolulu you must stop here.
