L&L Hawaiian Barbecue - Honolulu (Paiea St)

Beef stew was pretty good. Beef was mostly tender. Bbq burger was good. French fries are good. Bbq chicken burger was good. I’m giving three stars overall because their online process needs improvement. After placing my order using their app, received email confirmation. Couple minutes later received email canceling my order stating would receive a refund in a few days. Called the restaurant and asked what’s going on. They didn’t know and said, “no your order is still good”. They’re also really stingy on the parking validation. When I asked for parking validation the young lady says, ”you still good for ten minutes”. Why not just validate the parking, what if I don’t get out of the lot in ten minutes?

We wanted to grab something before the airport and this was close. It was reasonably priced and huge portions. I got the chicken katsu and sadly couldn’t eat half of it. You can easily share a meal. It was greasy and more on the fast food side of a place but if you are looking for that then it has some different options than standard places. The in laws had a cheese burger and they enjoyed that. The fries were decent. I did not care for the Mac salad but unusually don’t care for that and the sauce it comes with for the katsu isn’t my style to enjoy but they had other condiments if you wanted to dress it up. The atmosphere was lacking inside. The service was very friendly.

I came to Hawaii for genuine authentic cuisine, and left very satisfied! 5 out of five, would fly back to Hawaii for this!!! Edit: changed my review to four stars because the lady behind the counter wouldn't give me a water cup.

So so good but do not get the regular size plates. I regretted it halfway through but for the price 100% worth it.

Hawaiian plate lunch is comfort food. This L&L shop is conveniently located for those who need their plate lunch fix before a flight or during a long layover. The mini plate is anything but miniature. Looking for something more substantial? Go for the BBQ plate. Broke da mouth.

HUGE portions and cooked perfectly. Really affordable prices and great location right outside the airport and airport hotels. Just wish they cleaned the place better. There were food scraps and everywhere, and it was filthy inside.

Absolutely phenomenal Loco Moco. It is truly Hawaiian comfort food. The gravy is rich and savory. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The barbecue chicken was moist and tender. Highly recommended for a comforting meal in Hawaii.

Ordered a Regular Chicken Katsu Curry with the curry on the side and when I got my order they had only filled 2 small sauce containers with curry. No lie, probably about 3 tbsp of curry! Pretty stingy...

Ordered the BBQ chicken bowl and the teriyaki beef bowl along with a spam musubi. Food was pretty good only complaint was a few fatty pieces of beef but overall really yummy. Food was prepared quickly and service was fast and helpful.

Great location, perfect for picking up food before taking your flight. Clean atmosphere. Service was warm and friendly. Very welcoming and was greeted as I walked in. The menu consists of a variety of Island favorites and great combination plates. I opted for the Loco Moco Breakfast. The burger patty was good, moist, grilled, and seasoned well. The gravy was light but could use more beefy flavor. The over-easy eggs were perfect. The gravy, burger, over easy eggs over rice are delicious. The Macaroni Salad was tasty and freshly made. Generous portion, the regular combo could easily feed two people. For the price, it's worth it. The one con about this place is the parking. It is a paid parking lot even with validation.
