A Culinary Crossroads in Waikiki

Steps away from the golden sands of Waikiki Beach, the Kuhio Avenue Food Hall serves as a high-energy centerpiece for visitors looking to bypass the formality of traditional hotel dining. The space functions as an open-concept collective, where the scent of charred meats from the rotisserie blends with the crisp, cooling air of the high-vaulted ceilings. It is an ideal stop for those wandering off the main strip in Honolulu who want a quick, elevated bite without the wait times of nearby resort restaurants.

What to Expect on Your Plate

The food hall excels by curating a diverse rotation of vendors, but the real draw remains the rotisserie chicken, which draws a distinct, savory aroma through the entire hall. Whether you are grabbing a local-style plate lunch or opting for a craft cocktail from the central bar, the format encourages a casual, grab-and-go experience. You will find yourself navigating long communal tables, which makes this spot perfect for groups who cannot agree on a single cuisine type.

The Local Pulse

While the atmosphere is breezy and welcoming, be prepared for a lively, occasionally loud environment that mirrors the bustling energy of the surrounding Oahu tourism corridor. It is a social hub where the clatter of silverware and upbeat music fill the gaps in conversation. A quick tip for those visiting during peak dinner hours: the seating can fill up rapidly, so it is often better to scout for a table before heading to the ordering kiosks. It offers a grounded, no-fuss approach to Honolulu dining that captures the modern, multi-cultural essence of the islands.

The food is ok( nothing special) . The service is horrible ,the restaurant is located near to the beach , people get hungry and want to order food, it is totally ridiculous that they don’t want to serve guest who are shirtless . If I can I will give them cero stars. Plus they are located on the food court area in the mall . I don’t think they are a Five Michelin Stars Restaurant.

Great place for great food , drinks and people. Meet a variety of people here local and tourists from all over the world. Great band on Wednesdays. There’s like 8+ restaurants in the food hall and 2 bars. I’ve tried 6 of the restaurants and would recommend them. Food is great. Bartenders are super friendly, Lee, Michelle or Jess will all make your day more pleasant. Don’t forget to ask Lee to show you some magic!

Pretty good food hall. A bit small, but lots of variety and flavor of food. They had a musician playing live music when I went, which really adds to the atmosphere. If not for all the orgasmic food choices within walking distance, I'd rate this a 5. However... 🥲 Nom nom nom! 🤪

Great options for reasonable prices. I absolutely love what I chose. I had fantastic service. The gentleman that was helping me was great. We got our food to go and it was packed up nicely. My son’s service was so so but he got pizza. So not much effort needed to warm the pizza up. He’s a pizza kid tho and enjoyed his food as well!

This place was an all-time favorite in Honolulu. Really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant especially their tacos, quesadilla and nachos are among the best I’ve had anywhere. Super nice people gave me a discount for coming back. Very customer service focused.

I felt like I was at an airport for a moment but no, it was Kuhio Food Hall! It was a beautiful scenic spot to enjoy many varieties of food and drink. I must say that you should arrive there with an open mind to experience the atmosphere. Will visit again when the opportunity presents itself.

Be prepared for dinner craziness on the weekend with many people trying to find less expensive, yet still delicious food, at this hall. Lots of noise, families, strollers and people vying for tables. Be prepared to pounce if you want a place to sit. As for the food, we ate at La Pina Taqueria. The Tacos a Pastors were flavourful with crispy pork, juicy sweet pineapples bits and yummy crèma. My nephews said the Birria tacos were delicious as well. The queso dip and separate guacamole platters with chips came with a lot of sauce and chips, which filled us up. The lines/queue were a bit long but the employees were working hard and in the heat, well done. Not sure about the other food in this hall but we enjoyed our affordable dinner. Thank you!

The bar here is awesome! I had a great experience, especially having one of the best bar tenders, Jess (with the blonde hair). She was very tentative and had great conversations with my friends and I. It made us feel very welcome. The drinks were nothing but great, and the food to pair it with was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm and vibrant atmosphere to hang out with friends and have some drinks!

I always start with 5 stars then go down. TLDR; Food was cold. Workers felt a bit unhygenic. Brisket was super dry and like dry jerky. Sausage was good. Wish bun was toasted. Kimchee wasn't spicy. I honestly couldn't enjoy and I had been fasting for over 20 some hours. Cashier was super friendly. Price was too high to justify. Ty Full story: As an islander (born in Hawaii raised on Guam) I am the token CHEEHOO guy of the group. I CHEEHOO all the time. EDC? CHEEHOO. Coachella? CHEEHOO. Tuesday? I CHEEHOO. Lol So naturally when I saw this spot I got the Cheehoo platter. I had finished a flight from SFO and broke my 20+ hour fast with this platter sitting in the center bar while the live music player. I intended to finish everything and I almost did. Midway through the meal I realized the only thing actually hot was the chilli. Then I realized the meats were pretty much Cold. Almost as cold as the coleslaw. Kimchee was watered down and not spicy or flavorful really. And I couldn't enjoy the meal. I simply finished It because I paid for it and I'm a good Filipino boy who doesn't waste his food. If you're in the area for a short time - try another vendor. Or even see if you can try a small piece of brisket beforehand. 3/5 cheehoos.
