Kozo Sushi (2334 S King St Ste 100)
About
A Moiliili Staple for Quick Japanese Bites
When you find yourself cruising down King Street in the heart of Moiliili, the bright signage of Kozo Sushi stands out as a reliable destination for grab-and-go Japanese meals. This isn't a place for white-tablecloth service; it is a high-efficiency hub designed for locals who want quality hand rolls and bento boxes without the wait. The air inside is often filled with the sharp, crisp scent of seasoned sushi rice and toasted nori, moving quickly as staff assemble orders behind the counter.
Menu Highlights and Local Favorites
The kitchen is best known for its extensive variety of temaki and specialty rolls that lean into island-style flavor profiles. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch near the University of Hawaii or picking up a platter for a beach day, the Spicy Ahi and the signature Negitoro rolls are perennial favorites. The menu is surprisingly deep, offering everything from simple kappa maki to elaborate, mayonnaise-drizzled creations that define the Hawaii-style sushi experience.
What to Expect Before You Go
Parking in this slice of Honolulu can be a bit of a localized challenge, so be prepared to navigate the modest lot or find a spot on the surrounding side streets. The space is strictly functional—you come here to order, grab your tray or bag, and head out to enjoy your meal under the sun. It remains a go-to spot for those who prioritize accessibility and consistent, wallet-friendly flavors over formal dining. If you are a fan of traditional techniques mixed with the fast-paced, convenient spirit of Honolulu’s casual dining scene, this King Street fixture delivers exactly what it promises: no-fuss, satisfying sushi on the fly.

Have you been dreaming about a California Roll, Norimaki Sushi, OR one of those amazing sushi platters? Then, don't procratinate any longer. All that you simply have do is march on over to Kozo Sushi. How you get there is totally up to you. You may choose to walk (if you're in the neighborhood as I am), cycle, motorbike, drive or bus it over to Sushi headquarters (at least that's true in our Moiliili neighborhood). Tasty OSushi prepared with Aloha service in record time is awaiting your arrival. It is my family's go-to menu to celebrate special occasions. Consider making it your family's too. See you there.

Best sushi in Mccully-Moili’ili. I loved every roll, and the presentation was amazing. They are delicious and I highly recommend the crunchy rolls. I believe they use barbecue chips and it was so good. I ordered the following rolls: (photo attached) Hurricane Maki Crunchy Spicy Ahi Maki Dynamite Maki I live down the street from here and will be coming back often for sure.

All you expected for sushi take out at Honolulu. You get a larger portion at a very reasonable price. We got a lunch box and an Ahola bento, total cost is under $25, can't beat that price in Honolulu. So if you are near by, on a budget, and don't mind an ok/good'ish sushi, this is definitely the place that will keep your tummy full while still have funds left over for drinks later.
