King Of Thai Boat Noodles
About
A Street Food Escape in Honolulu
Walking into King Of Thai Boat Noodles feels like stepping off the busy Honolulu pavement and straight into a bustling corner shop in Bangkok. The air is thick with the aromatic scent of star anise, cinnamon, and slow-simmered pork broth. It is an unpretentious space, defined by bright lighting and the constant clatter of metal spoons against ceramic bowls—a sound that signals comfort to anyone craving authentic Thai street fare.
The Boat Noodle Experience
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the signature boat noodles. These are served in a rich, dark, herb-infused broth that balances deep savory notes with a hint of earthy spice. You can customize your bowl with your choice of protein, ranging from tender slices of pork to bouncy meatballs. The rice noodles are cooked to a perfect al dente, soaking up the complex flavors of the soup. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, the condiment station is essential; a spoonful of the house-made chili flakes or a splash of vinegar brings a sharp brightness to the deep, salty broth.
What to Expect
This spot is perfect for a quick, soul-satisfying lunch or a casual dinner with friends who prioritize flavor over white-tablecloth pretense. While the seating area can get quite packed during the lunch hour—creating a lively, sometimes tight, communal environment—the turnover is fast. Keep in mind that the broth’s intensity is the real draw here, so come prepared to focus on your bowl. It is a genuine slice of Thai culinary tradition brought to the islands, offering a reliable, punchy meal that hits the spot every time you are wandering through the urban landscape of Honolulu.

Boat noodle is very delicious since I have not tried for a while. 😁 Ordered the roti ice cream from recommended menu. Ice cream is so good, sweet and creamy like I wanted. Overall good and enjoyable food.

It’s a smaller restaurant but the food tasted great. The Pad Thai and boat noodles were great here. They have beef and pork and several different noodle types too. The waitress was friendly and the ambiance was relaxing. She brought out extra bowls and plates because she already knew that we wanted to share our dishes with each other. Restrooms are located outside but they have a sink for washing hands.

Like they said, the first traditional that noodle house #1 since 1994. What makes me sad is that I only discovered the delicious Thai food near my hotel on my last day before leaving Hawaii. 😂 I will come again next time. I love Hawaii, I love Thai food, and my favorite is their chicken feet salad.
