Kamukura

The ramen is located inside the ala moana center second floor which there are plenty of different types of food around at the food court. There is another food court at the 1st floor too. The ramen is good but in general I don’t really think it worths to travel all the way here for it if you are not close by. They have an Oahu discount booklet which if you show the staff they will offer you 15% discount. That’s nice.

Very fresh and rich flavor of my Pork Egg Ramen Bowl and the Gyoza was cooked fresh and tasty. Eri (cashier) was very friendly and gave me awesome customer service with Aloha!

In the Lanai food court at Ala Moana is Kamakura Ramen. This is equivalent to a mid level ramen shop in Japan. The ramen is better than cup o noodle. If you can not make a good ramen at home then try this place. If you can doctor up a ramen at home then stop here and eat at home. You can then send me the money you saved. The food is kind of bland, it's still good but it doesn't have that punch you in the mouth flavor that great ramen has. Would eat here again? Yes but not ramen. The best part is the pager they give you if you order in. It's a food court so good luck finding seating at peek times. When the pages sounds off it's this loud ominous peeping. There is no turning it off. You then have to walk through the food court with everyone looking at you expecting you to explode. Good times!!!

Ramen was absolutely incredible – one of the best I’ve ever had! I could really feel the authentic Japanese taste in every bite. Highly recommend!

A solid ramenya inside the Lanai at the mall. This spot offers a variety of ramen options. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the bowls come in larger portions. I went with the half size spicy tan tan ramen with char siu which was perfect since I wasn’t too hungry. Otherwise the regular size would have been the way to go. The char siu pork was tender with a light chew while the noodles were al dente though thinner than I would have preferred. The real star was the broth which was flavorful, balanced, not overly salty or spicy, and tied the whole dish together beautifully. Seating is limited at the counter but you can always use the Lanai food court area if you prefer.

**Ramen should be served piping hot in a ramen bowl.... Not in a plastic container like instant ramen.** With that said, I finally went to Ala Moana to try Kamakura Ramen to get my ramen fix. Located in the food court on the second floor where the old Shirokiyas used to be. Ive eaten at this ramen place before but it was in Japan at the Kansai airport in Osaka. Setup is pretty nice, with limited seating at the counter. I asked to sit at the counter since I would have the ramen in a regular ramen bowl and not a plastic take out one. This is Hawaii and they gotta pay the high Ala Moana rent so the prices are steep for ramen. All the chefs working in the back are from Japan. They also have Hawaii exclusive items on the menu that arent served anywhere else. I decided on the Hawaii Exclusive Aburi Char Siu Tan Tan Men for $26.99. Yeah pricey but you only live once. The cashier/server also recommended to me the side order fried chicken that was an anniversary special promotion they were doing for $2 more, which I gladly ordered. Food arrived quickly, made to order and was worth the trip coming here. With the side order chicken, I ordered more food that I could eat, so luckily the chicken was served in a take out box that i could carry out. Portions were generous, food was piping hot which is a must....taste was authentic and worth the visit. Would recommend if you are willing to spend the higher amount on ramen. 4 stars🤙

So I've always kept looking at trying this place out and I finally took the time to give the place a try with a good friend of mine who is like a sister. The lady at the front register was super nice while taking our orders, and after taking our order she asked if we would like to sit at their table seating which had a nice atmosphere because you have the Japanese curtains behind the chairs that seclude you from the rest of the hustle bustle behind you in the Lahaina food court and they were playing slow paced disney music (without lyrics/voices) and you could watch through the glass as the chefs get to work on your meal and others as you eat and enjoy your time there while having discussions and conversations with your own friends and/or family. Over all, it's a nice Ramen shop to enjoy a good meal and it was a wonderful experience. ^_^

Soup is not light but not too heavy, hard to describe the flavor, but it reminds me a little of wonton soup. No Tonkotsu. The egg was not seasoned and was pretty much boiled. I can make similar ramen like this at home. The noodles are soft so if you like firm noodles you can MAYBE try to get it customized. The moment I saw a combo menu I knew I was getting myself into trouble eating here. Although it's not horrible I definitely won't go out of my way to eat here.
