Kamitoku Ramen ward
About
A Taste of Tottori in the Heart of Kaka’ako
Stepping into Kamitoku Ramen within the bustling Ward Village district feels like a direct transport to the prefectures of Japan. Known as the primary stateside outpost for a legendary Tottori-based noodle house, this spot eschews the typical tonkotsu tropes for something far more nuanced: the beef bone broth. The scent of simmering marrow greets you at the door, heavy and savory, grounding the sleek, modern aesthetic of the shop.
The Beef Bone Difference
The culinary philosophy here centers on a clear yet deeply complex beef-based soup. Their signature creation, the Beefy Wild, manages to be both lean and rich, topped with thin slices of tender beef brisket that melt upon contact with the hot broth. It is a departure from the heavy, milky pork soups common throughout Honolulu, offering a lighter, punchier alternative that highlights the mastery of their stock-making process.
Mid-Day Slurps and City Pace
The space is designed for efficiency and energy. It is an ideal stop for a quick lunch while exploring the shops of Kaka’ako or a pre-movie meal. The acoustics can get quite lively during the dinner rush—the sound of clattering ceramic bowls and enthusiastic slurping is the soundtrack of the room. Be prepared for a compact seating arrangement; it’s a cozy, bustling environment where the focus remains strictly on the bowl in front of you. If you appreciate a refined, clean broth that lingers on the palate long after the final drop, this is the destination to seek out on your next trek through urban Oahu.

We went to this restaurant for the all you can eat hot pot…. It did NOT disappoint! We were greeted at the door even though we did not have a reservation, they made room for us. The servers were very attentive throughout the entire meal. (You have 75 minutes to eat) Out glasses were always full, and the process of getting the next side of meat was painless. The flavors of the soup’s were incredible. (I would recommend the wild spicy-my favorite). Overall a 10/10!

Had ANOTHER amazing dinner at Kamitoka Ramen!! This place rock's with the most delicious beef broth I've ever tasted at a ramen shop. Great, kind service, comfortable seats and quick service once you are seated. I'll be back soon! Wish you were on the mainland in Chicago or Vegas!!

The ramen was delicious! I had the Seabura and the spicy ramen, and I ended up mixing them together and created the best ramen I’ve ever had. The Seabura was creamy in the best way, super rich and flavorful, but not spicy, which is why mixing it with the spicy ramen worked perfectly. But honestly, the Seabura by itself was so freaking good. If you try nothing else, try that. Their water was delicious. This is the first water from any restaurant anywhere that I’ve ever had and actually drank. It was drinkable and refreshing. It taste straight from the springs like they hiked up the mountains theirselves and brought back the coldest freshest water. Absolutely worth it.

Some of the best ramen I have had in my life. The broth is super flavorful and all of the toppings are fresh. I ate here at least once a week when I was living in Honlulu

It’s one of the better Ramen places on the island. I had the Beast, which supposedly had 3x of the beef. This place served beef based ramen, which is rare. The beef fat (in chunks) were tasty and everyone should try them. The ramen texture was very good, but the soup base was quite salty (for me, I’m sure others find that to be perfectly fine). The service was excellent, but this is a small place in the Ward Village, so a long line is expected. Service was friendly and quick. Give it a try if you haven’t already done so.

Awesome experience for a Ramen joint. The place was bright and clean. The staff was very friendly and the timing of the food was quick. I have never been to a beef broth ramen restaurant and it was very delicious. I ordered the Tsukemen, my wife ordered the Yuzu broth, and they had a great kids meal with a ramen bowl, chicken karaage, and fries. Perfect for my kid! My wife's Yuzu broth was light, but plenty of depth. The Tsukemen broth was rich and full of flavor. It wasn't just rich and creamy, but had a nice balance of acidity as well. The noodles were thick and chewy. The beef brisket char siu might be better than any pork char siu. I love good ramen and this place hit the spot
