Kai Poke Waikiki
About
A Fresh Take on Waikiki Poke
Stepping into Kai Poke Waikiki feels like a necessary pause in the middle of a sun-drenched Honolulu afternoon. Located just steps from the iconic sands of Waikiki Beach, this spot leans into the local tradition of raw fish, focusing on simplicity rather than over-complication. The air here carries the faint, crisp scent of sea salt and freshly sliced scallions, a refreshing contrast to the humid tropical heat outside.
The Flavor Profile
The menu highlights the essentials of island cuisine. You’ll find bowls anchored by ahi tuna sourced directly from local waters, tossed with a house-made shoyu that balances salt and umami without overwhelming the fish. The cubes of ahi are consistently firm and buttery, served alongside staples like sweet Maui onions, ogo seaweed, and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. It is straightforward, clean, and built for those who prefer their catch fresh rather than masked by heavy mayo-based sauces.
The Local Rhythm
This is a grab-and-go hub meant for beach-goers and busy professionals. Because of its prime location, the seating area is compact, making it better suited for a quick meal to take down to the shoreline than a lingering sit-down affair. You might find the queue moves fast, but keep in mind that parking near this stretch of the coast is notoriously competitive; your best bet is to walk over after a morning swim or a stroll through the nearby shops. Whether you are a visitor looking for an authentic taste of Hawaii or a resident needing a reliable lunch, Kai Poke provides a consistent, no-fuss experience that honors the traditional poke bowl culture found throughout Oahu.

Staff were nice, and the Big Bowl Poke I ate tasted soo good. It wasn't that big, but its big for people who don't eat that much. I ordered 3 types of Poke cubes I got to, and the spicy Poke was alot more spicy than I expected so people who dont like spice, you shouldn't order the spicy one, but I like spice so that wasn't a problem for me! If u want to eat good Poke Don, eat here! The prices are pretty reasonable too.

Great place. The poke is awesome they have 6-7 different flavors. I like the spicey ones, but tried a variety. I was there for a work trip so this became a go to spot. Reasonable prices, highly recommend.

Walked past this poke place and I just could not resist entering the place to check it out for myself. I ordered a mini bowl with some tuna, edamame, fried garlic and seaweed salad and it was just spectacular. You could taste the freshness of the fish that is meticulously prepared by the owner. I highly recommend, two thumbs up!
