Jolene's Market

Went for lunch to try the infamous Lobster Roll. Got it with a side of sweet potato fries. While I was there, I thought I'd try the Spicy Sausage Roll too with some chowder. Naturally, they were busy, even with tourists on their way to the airport. Good to see. Ordering takeout was reasonably quick and painless, although getting lucky with front door parking definitely helped. Service was pretty quick, and it was great to see staff helping each other. Personally, I'd limit service to only takeout so they can turn parking faster, but that's just me. In all, it's worth the wait and definitely the best valued lobster roll in town so far at $18 (s/p fries +$2). It's a hearty and tasty sandwich. Feast in Manoa is next on my list, but Jolene's was worth trying, and I will definitely go back at some point to dabble in the rest of the menu. Simple but variety. The spicy sausage was also pretty good and came with a homemade slaw. I gotta say, though, their buttered, toasted, house baked, sweet roll is part of their secret. It kinda rocks and compliments both sandwiches. Anyway, it's a pretty lengthy review on my part, on purpose. Rock the Lobster Roll! 2/23/21 Just been to their last competitor in town. Jolene's rocks the best Lobstah Roll in town, especially for the price. Nice job, guys! 3/2023 It's been a while since I had a lobster fix, and I was in the area. Prices have gone up but still pretty dang good. Had the combo with chowder. Chowder could have more consistency for value, but it was good. I still think Jolene's and Fat Cheeks are the best butta rolls in town. Friendly, courteous service as well. Will be back to try the BBQ Brisket one day by the cashier's recommendation on my next visit. 🙂🤙✌️

Jolene’s Marketplace in Chinatown is a favorite among my coworkers and me! We visit at least once a week, craving the buttah burger. Priced just right and bursting with flavor, this burger is perfection. The pickled vegetables and generous cheese are delightful, but the bun truly makes it stand out. The waffle fries are also yummy, especially when they’re not too crunchy. I've also enjoyed the birria melt with consomme and the pastrami roll. Every dish we've tried is always freshly made and packed with delicious flavors. The staff at Jolene’s Marketplace are exceptionally friendly and always greet us warmly. They remember us every time we visit, and it’s always a joy to see their pleasant faces. Their welcoming nature adds to the overall great experience.

We came for lunch for lobster rolls and grilled cheese, then did drinks for more lobster plus bar foods. For the price, you get a lot of lobster. The bulk is a lobster salad type filling but generous chunks throughout in both sandwiches. Most places here do lobster rolls like it's tuna salad but the dressing on these is light and not to mayo-y. Also like the pairing with bahn mi style veggies in the roll. Bar is limited but good prices and generous pours if you want basic drinks. It got super crowded around 6pm on Friday so might need a reservation if you have a big group. They also do Chinese food (which looked great and we're going back to try, coffees and Dave's ice cream ... Like 20 flavors). I like the variety. Parking at Cultural Plaza. It's in the old Regal Bakery space.
