JINYA Ramen Bar - Honolulu
About
A Bold Bowl of Honolulu Ramen
Stepping into JINYA Ramen Bar in the heart of Honolulu, the first thing you notice is the rhythmic clatter of ladles and the deep, savory aroma of pork bone broth that has been simmering for over 20 hours. This isn't a place for a quick, quiet bite; it’s a high-energy spot where the steam from open kitchens fogs up the windows and the bustling atmosphere reflects the vibrant energy of the island’s urban center.
Crafting the Perfect Slurp
The menu highlights the art of slow-cooked Tonkotsu, featuring a broth that hits the palate with a creamy, rich intensity. Their signature Cha Cha Cha ramen is a local favorite, loaded with enough garlic and pork back fat to satisfy any serious comfort food craving. If you prefer something lighter, the Spicy Chicken Ramen offers a clean, fiery kick that cuts through the humidity of a Honolulu afternoon.
The Honolulu Experience
What sets this spot apart is the attention to detail in their custom-made noodles, which are aged to provide that precise, springy snap essential for a proper ramen experience. The industrial-chic decor makes it a go-to for late-night crowds or friends meeting up after a day at the beach. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak dinner hours when the room fills with the sound of spirited conversation and clinking ceramic bowls. Parking in this busy corridor can be a bit of a challenge, so give yourself an extra ten minutes to navigate the nearby lots, but once that first spoonful of broth hits your tongue, the search for a spot will be a distant memory.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ JINYA Ramen Bar is absolutely top-notch from start to finish. The food is consistently outstanding — every bowl is packed with rich, savory flavors, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh, high-quality ingredients that make every bite feel like a treat. Their specialty ramen and appetizers are thoughtfully crafted, and each dish arrives beautifully presented. The service matches the food — attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff makes you feel comfortable whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, and they’re always happy to offer recommendations or answer questions about the menu. The location itself is perfect — easy to find, clean, and inviting, with a modern, cozy interior that makes it ideal for anything from a casual meal to a date night. Overall, JINYA Ramen Bar delivers a full experience: exceptional food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll keep coming back every time I’m in the area.

Two co-workers and I went to JINYA Ramen for lunch. It was surprisingly crowded for a Monday, and we had a table near the glass wall separating the restaurant from the bar next door. The Signature Tapas & Ramen menu (ramen combo) appealed to all of us for $23 … I opted for the Tonkotsu Black and a glass of Sapporo draft. Service was leisurely as it has been at JINYA each time I’ve dined here. They appeared to be somewhat understaffed for a full house. (While we were dining, the crowd inside and outside kept growing.) The beer came in short order, in a tall, chilled glass. Ah, so refreshing! Our appetizer platters came next … Wow, two pieces of chicken karaage, three gyoza, a spicy tuna crispy taco and a small green salad. There was a small square container with a chili-flavored dipping sauce. Each item was great! It took a while for our ramen to arrive … each was served in a black bowl and came with a package containing two pieces of nori. The kikurage (wood ear fungi) gave it an earthy aroma; the egg was perfectly cooked, but I would have preferred that it come cut in half. The bowl was delicious, but I wished it came at a higher temperature … There was steam rising from the dish, but it wasn’t the temperature that I like from a bowl of ramen. This seems to be SOP for JINYA Ramen because I’ve come here twice previously, and the temperature has been the same each time. Oh well … We enjoyed our food … I give it 4+ stars.

To start out the food was excellent and our server, Carson, an excellent, friendly, and helpful waiter. Food was excellent-great ramen and the Flying Violette was a great happy hour option. We also ordered the crispy spicy tuna and that was a tasty starter. The reason that overall service is three stars is the online reservation system doesn't really explain there are three different restaurants under the same umbrella and depending on which you book the reservation determines what you can order as they are different. The restaurant isn't super baby friendly--they asked to put away the stroller-- so buyer beware.

A good place. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, it’s very convenient that the calories are written on the menu. The location is good. They have a strawberry dessert in a long glass, it's beautifully presented and tastes good. I've been here several times, but I forgot to write a review, when I was here for the first time last year, they gave us a light rag bag and a keychain for the phone, a small thing but a nice touch!

The ramen was super delicious. The broth has a deep flavor without being too overpowering. Loved the atmosphere of the place. The staff here are also very friendly & attentive. All the appetizers were really good also. I’ll definitely be back!

Service and food were pretty good. Prices weren't too bad. Be careful of the red premium ramen. It's pretty spicy even at level 4. A bit loud in there due to the bar next door. PS there's no parking on property so you have to park at the Ward parking structures around the area.
