Reservations were easy to make over the phone, best for smaller groups of 1-4 people (anything more would feel overwhelming) Cozy local spot, no BS, nice Awamori selection. This is a three-person show and they do an astounding job keeping things running! Loved being able to order a bunch of little smaller Okinawan plates so there was always something for each of us to try. Beef tongue was delicious, seared hamachi was divine, garlic fried rice was cozy delicious especially when paired with the simmered beef and vegetables. Dashimaki was silky delicious. Gyoza was top and felt like crisp pillows. Awamori and classic Japanese sours and highballs are available along with a selection of beer and sake to suit all palates. A true Izakaya. ありがとございました for having us dine with you!🙇‍♀️

Phenomenal Izakaya in Honolulu. Just a random search but It was a hit. Yuzu x orion beer is must try. Their food is one of a kind. I definitely comeback for sure.

Traveled to Hawaii for vacation. We tried about 6 or 7 different items from the menu. Each one was amazing! Fresh, flavorful and awesome! There's an amazing assortment of fine drinks on the menu. The staff was very attentive and wonderful. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for an amazing izakaya in Honolulu!

Absolutely outstanding. While that place is more like a hangout Japanese bar with a great selection of homemade and international drinks, the food there is something you must stop for. Every dish is different, tasty, and truly unique. Every bite will bring you a food orgasm. That's the defiantly the best restaurant on the island! Service feels like you are visiting a friend and the atmosphere is transporting you to the other side of the ocean. Don’t hesitate, experience it yourself. We were coming there couple times during the trip, to try it all 😅🙃

everything we ordered were tasty and special! the seared sashimi is the punch that day, fried rice is good and full of flavor, gyoza was amazing. the chinese cabbage salad was a little bit weird tho, don’t order that lol.

Despite our verbalized reservations about sitting at the bar and request for table, we were seated at the bar stools. The area as a whole is cramped and loud, which presents little concern comparatively to the mediocre service. They consistently gave the plates to the wrong person while messing up some of our drink orders. For example: one of us ordered coke and got water instead, another ordered ginger ale after the waitress noted it comes canned; however receipt of the drink was 75% ice with the remaining opened can from a previous customer. A refill was requested with no ice and they refilled the ice with again another drop of ginger ale. Request for the can itself was denied; despite the Japanese customers next to us getting their soda in a can. The food itself is well presented but taste is subpar and mirrored many wholesale alternatives like the cream cheese or gyoza from Costco. Our first taco rice came and was mixed in front of us while the second came mixed. Staff engagement with our party seemed rushed to hurry us out of the establishment and I suppose that might be their business model given that seats are typically filled as they’re emptied. I have been to various authentic Japanese restaurants on island and in Japan, this one not a welcoming or positive experience and only notable for review because of the disappointment.

Very condescending and short(not as in height) waitress. basically just pointed to a basket on the ground when we asked for menus. we had takowasabi, it was pretty good and spicy but really small portion Taco rice tasted like high school cafeteria tacos, definitely out of a packet. Hamachi carpaccio, pretty much the only dish we liked Kakuni 3 small pieces of pork and a cold egg, this was the last item to arrive at the table, when I asked the waitress about it she snapped at me and said "it takes time" and promptly left. Gyoza meh! Beef tongue was chewy and had no flavor. Pig ears were also meh... very close to the ground seats, if you have knee issues you're gonna suffer. not worthy of us coming back

Atmosphere is unmatched, brought me back to Okinawa Japan. One of the best culinary experiences I have had in a long time. Lovely staff, jaw dropping presentation, and just a pure heavenly experience for your taste buds. Orion on draft?!?! Nothing more needs to be said.

Open late night in Honolulu, Okinawan food and vibe, Orions on tap. What more do you need? Havent been here in a while came in for some late night drinks at the bar. Nothing like a couple cold Orion Draft Beers after a long work day🤙 Place is always packed so call ahead of time. Ordered some small dishes along with some Hamachi Sashimi and some shots to end a perfect night. 5 stars🤙

This place is a true hidden gem. Reservations by phone only, it's quite small so I'd recommend doing so. Ice cold beer mugs are always bonus points for me. Truly everything we ate was incredible. The beef tongue has layers of flavors to it. The mackerel flash fired table side is just impressive. And the surprise of the night was taco rice. What a fun delicious dish they came up with.
