A Refreshing Escape in the Heart of McCully
Stepping into It's Tea feels like a genuine departure from the frantic pace of Honolulu traffic. This local staple in the McCully neighborhood has cultivated a loyal following by keeping things simple: high-quality tea leaves and a menu that balances authentic sweetness with savory bites. You will often hear the soft clatter of boba pearls hitting the bottom of plastic cups against a backdrop of K-Pop music, creating an upbeat, youthful energy perfect for an afternoon study session or a casual meetup.
Signature Brews and Savory Bites
The menu leans heavily into traditional milk teas and fruit infusions. Their signature roasted oolong milk tea carries a distinct, smoky aroma that sets it apart from the overly syrupy chains scattered across Oahu. If you find yourself needing a snack, the popcorn chicken is a must-order; it comes out piping hot, with a crispy, golden-brown crust and a dusting of salt and pepper that hits just the right balance. It is an ideal spot for those who appreciate a tea shop that takes its brewing process seriously.
The McCully Vibe
The space is functional and efficient, characterized by clean lines and modern decor. A minor heads-up for newcomers: the parking lot can be a bit of a tight squeeze during the peak evening rush, a common reality for s tucked into this busy district. Whether you are grabbing a quick refreshing drink on your way to Ala Moana or settling in for a late-night snack, the staff keeps the line moving with precision. It is exactly what a neighborhood tea house should be—consistent, flavorful, and welcoming to the local Honolulu community.

The best boba tea in Kaka’ako. This place is amazing! Can’t believe it’s been here since 2019 and I just found it last weekend. The owners are so sweet. Small kine shop, family owned. And the teas and boba are so good. So good! We’ve had everything recommended. Honestly though, the green teas and spring teas are amazing. Highly recommend them. Someone’s personal fav is the green tea lilikoi less sweet. I love the spring tea pineapple. Someone else loves the dairy-free taro with boba. The lemonade with boba is refreshing, the winter melon with spring tea is so good. Everything we’ve had is so good. Did I mention the boba? Perfect boba, just like Lunar Tea. Since discovering this place, we’ve been back at least a dozen times. TL;DR: highly recommend! Go now!

If I can drink/eat this place everyday, I would!!! But I am currently watching my diet because I am ADDICTED TO BOBA! Not just any boba, It’s Tea boba!! If it weren’t for my boba diet, I would be here everyday! My mouth waters every time I think about It’s Tea! I would like to consider myself a boba connoisseur because I am very picky and particular in my milk tea as well as my boba balls! But to my surprise, It’s Tea is able to perfect both! The boba balls are actually flavorful and the texture is perfect. I hate when my boba balls are bland. What a waste of calories! But It’s Tea knows how to perfect it! They make boba every couple of hours so they always have fresh boba ready to serve! This place is a gold mine and my favorite boba place in Hawaii. Trust me, this boba connoisseur has been to all of the boba shops in Hawaii and nothing compares to Its tea! The owners are SUPER sweet and kind. And what stands out most about them is that they like to give back to the community. I love it! My mouth is watering as I am writing this post! Can’t wait to get my boba tomorrow!

This is a little counter tea establishment near popular shopping. About a block from Whole Foods. Was impressed with the knowledge and recommendations of gentleman taking my order. I chose Okinawa black sugar milk tea iced with tapioca (boba). It was refreshing and their boba is the best I have enjoyed in quite some time.
