A Sip of Paradise Above Kalakaua

Perched within the bustling pulse of the Royal Hawaiian Center, this elevated hideaway offers a rare moment of stillness in the heart of Waikiki. While the streets below remain crowded with vacationers and flickering neon, the second-floor terrace provides a breezy vantage point to watch Honolulu transition from a sun-drenched playground to a glittering urban landscape.

Curated Grapes and Island Provisions

The menu leans heavily into global selections, featuring an impressive flight of wines that pair surprisingly well with local flavors. You will find their signature Kona coffee-infused delicacies alongside sophisticated charcuterie boards that highlight artisanal cheeses. It is an ideal spot for those who appreciate a quiet glass of Pinot Noir while escaping the humidity of the sidewalk. The open-air architecture invites the trade winds, though be prepared for the occasional hum of street performers drifting up from the plaza.

The Waikiki After-Hours Experience

This space caters to the discerning traveler who values a refined drink over a typical tiki cocktail. The atmosphere is muted and polished, making it a go-to for an intimate evening conversation or a sophisticated start to a long Hawaiian night. Despite the high-end surroundings, the service maintains a laid-back, approachable rhythm consistent with the island spirit. If you arrive during the golden hour, you can snag a rail seat to catch the light bouncing off the nearby palms, though note that the cozy footprint means tables fill up rapidly as the sun dips below the Pacific horizon.

We visited Vintage Island Wine Bar four mornings in a row during our trip and loved it every time. It was half a block from our hotel. Conveniently located on the second floor. This place is a must every time we visit Oahu. The açaí bowls, garlic shrimp, lox bagel, and iced coffee drinks were all fresh and delicious. A special shoutout to Keanu, who was an amazing host every morning—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like regulars. We’re going to miss his friendly smile and aloha spirit. Great food, great service, and a great way to start the day. Highly recommend!

We had breakfast here three times during our one-week stay. It was difficult not to go back every single morning because the food was amazing. The best eggs benedict ever! We also tried different açaí bowls and smoothies, and they were all delicious. We also had the chicken pesto panini, which was good, but some parts of the chicken felt undercooked. All of our servers were nice and friendly; however, their host—a young girl—wasn’t really welcoming and almost seemed hostile. Overall, I wish you guys would open a spot in Seattle! Please consider this!

Amazing experience! The food was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. I had a delicious salad with perfectly seasoned fish, creamy sauce, sesame seeds, and fresh greens that tasted so vibrant and balanced. Every bite felt high quality and thoughtfully put together. The atmosphere at the bar was relaxing and welcoming, and the coffee was excellent as well. A perfect spot to enjoy fresh, flavorful food in Hawaii. Highly recommend!

10⭐️ experience! Amazing food, amazing coffee, and the sweetest service. Apple took such great care of us — attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. The Ahi Burger was incredible, and the coconut affogato was next level. Great atmosphere and truly memorable. Highly recommend — and ask for Apple!

We come for brunch every time when we are visiting Honolulu. Highly recommend their braised beef loco moco, the best on the island!

Having a wonderful time here with a group of partners. Every dish had a strong Hawaiian flair, and the drinks were delicious as well. The food was served fairly quickly, and the location is convenient, making this a place worth considering.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This is hands down the best brunch spot you can imagine in Waikiki. I’m never the type to eat at the same place repeatedly on vacation, yet every single morning I found myself coming back to Island Vintage Coffee Waikiki and Island Vintage Wine Bar. The haupia açaí bowl is absolutely incredible—I ordered it over and over again. Every other dish we tried was just as impressive: both loco mocos, the grilled salmon, the crab scramble loaded with crab, the kalua pork benny, the smoked salmon benny…the list goes on. Truly outstanding every time.

Great cheese plate and the small one is already quite large. The staff was very friendly recommending wine to me and I was more than pleased with my deep, oaky and smokey Syrah. They also serve non-alcoholic drinks, including mocktails and milk beverages. They also have wine on a dispenser system. Very nice experience. Can’t wait to visit again.

Island Vintage Wine Bar is one of those Waikīkī spots that consistently delivers, especially if you’re craving high-quality poke in a relaxed, wine-bar setting without the chaos of the main café line downstairs. The shoyu ahi poke is absolutely excellent—clean, fresh cubes of ahi with a perfectly balanced shoyu marinade that lets the fish shine. Nothing overpowered, nothing heavy, just beautifully seasoned fish over rice with crisp greens and seaweed for texture. It’s the kind of poke that reminds you why simple is often best. I was equally impressed with the spicy Hawaiian tofu poke, which is not an afterthought vegetarian option. The tofu is flavorful, well-marinated, and paired with crunchy veggies and sesame that give it real depth and heat. Even non-tofu lovers would enjoy this—bold, savory, and very satisfying. The ambiance is airy and calm, especially compared to other Waikīkī spots, and the wine bar setup makes it easy to linger. Pro tip: this location often has the same food menu with less of a wait, which is a huge win. Why four stars instead of five? Prices are a bit steep for the portion size, even by Waikīkī standards and the happy hour menu isn’t always offered unless you ask. Still, the quality is there, and the food absolutely hits. Bottom line: If you want excellent poke—both classic and plant-based—in a chill setting with solid vibes, Island Vintage Wine Bar is a reliable go-to.

Island Vintage Wine Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Center (2301 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI) truly deserves five stars. From the moment we arrived, the hostess greeted us with such kindness and professionalism, and our server went above and beyond, carefully explaining the menu, checking on us often, and making sure we felt taken care of throughout the experience. The coffee was incredibly fresh, and the food exceeded our expectations. It was healthy, flavorful, and served in generous portions. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, which was rich and perfectly balanced, while my husband enjoyed the Gluten Free Coconut Toast Breakfast that was both wholesome and delicious. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. This place has it all — wine, cocktails, specialty coffee, fresh food, and even desserts. You can also shop for beautiful mugs, local Hawaiian coffee, and souvenirs to take a piece of the island home with you. We were seated by a lovely window with a view of lush trees, which made the atmosphere even more relaxing and beautiful. Prices were very reasonable for the quality, service, and location. Everything arrived right on time, and the experience felt seamless from start to finish. If you are visiting Waikiki, I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, or even a casual evening with a glass of wine. Great food, warm service, a beautiful view, and an overall experience that makes you want to return again and again.
