Honolulu Cookie Company (227 Lewers St)
About
A Pineapple-Shaped Slice of Waikiki
Walking down Lewers Street, the scent of buttery, macadamia-nut-infused warmth acts as a beacon. The Honolulu Cookie Company has turned the simple shortbread into a Waikiki institution, perfectly capturing the spirit of island hospitality in their signature pineapple-shaped treats. Whether you are hunting for a souvenir that actually tastes like home or just need a mid-afternoon sugar fix while exploring the heart of Honolulu, this spot delivers a crisp, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
Island-Inspired Flavors
The shop is famous for blending traditional baking with local Hawaiian ingredients. Beyond the classic macadamia nut, you will find daring infusions like Kona coffee, lilikoi (passion fruit), and dark chocolate-dipped mango. Each cookie is individually wrapped, making them ideal for tucking into a beach bag before heading toward the Pacific coastline.
Know Before You Go
The boutique nature of the store means it can get quite cozy when the tourist crowds move in off the main drag, especially during the sunset rush. Don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting a few extra minutes behind someone debating which collector’s tin to take back to the mainland; the staff is incredibly patient, often offering samples of their latest seasonal batches to keep the line moving happily. It is the kind of place where the packaging is almost as polished as the cookies, making it a reliable stop for high-quality gifts that feel genuinely representative of the Islands.

Cookie Math: One for me, one for the box, and one for me again. After years of happily receiving Honolulu Cookie Company as gifts, it was so fun to finally visit one of their stores in person and see the mothership for myself. And honestly? It's dangerous in the best way. If you've ever been gifted one of their iconic pineapple-shaped cookies, you already know what you're getting into: buttery, crumbly, ph so easy to inhale and somehow impossible to eat just one (just like Pringles). The best part about this location? Samples! Glorious, generous samples. No guessing and no committing to a full box blindly. You get to taste your way through and build your perfect box with confidence, which is both excellent customer service and a direct threat to my self-control and waistline. The shop was clean, well-stocked, and smelled like the kind of place that makes you suddenly understand why people buy "just one box" and leave with three. The staff was friendly, helpful, and more than willing to guide the very serious business of cookie selection. If you've only ever received Honolulu Cookie Company as a gift, consider this your sign to go in person at least once. They have so many locations across Waikiki but this one has samples. The samples alone make it worth it.

Cookies are great. I bought the largest box for 30 cookies for a gift. Upon getting back to the hotel the box was busted. I went back to store and explained about the broken box and asked if I could purchase a new box and they said no. Kind of a bummer that now I’m giving the gift with the bottom broken out of it.

Greeted straight away by a lovely staff member who let us know we can try samples and the prices or the different cookie box options. We bought a 10 box and received two free chocolate chip cookies. We really enjoyed these cookies (Hawaiian Airlines gave us some on our flight over) and needed to buy more!

Although a tad expensive for the number of cookies you get, Honolulu Cookie Company is a great souvenir to bring back that anyone can enjoy. The store was busy in the evening that we went but there were several opportunities to get free cookies as you shop at the store. I think we got 2-3 free individual cookies each and many little pieces of the flavoured cookies we wanted to sample. There are cute little gift boxes with Aloha printed on them that we got for our friends. There are many of Honolulu Cookie Company storefronts throughout Waikiki so you won’t miss them!

This is one of the many Honolulu Cookie Companies in Waikiki, but this is the one near our hotel. We were there and purchased some delicious cookies after we sampled some of them. Their cookies are not super sweet but delicious. I like the flavor and texture of their cookies. The beautiful packaging of the cookies makes them a perfect gift. The employees at this location are very helpful and attentive, too.

Fell in love with this place back in 2016 when I first encountered it in Vegas! I was super excited to see it again! I love love love shortbread cookies! I also love their packaging! It’s cute and makes a great gift! This company will always have a special place in my heart. They have this little Aloha Card where you can earn a stamp for every $5 spent. I think it’s amazing!
