Interactive Dining on Sheridan Street

Located in the heart of the Ala Moana-Kakaako area, Hawaii Pot Shabu Shabu House offers a hands-on approach to dining that shifts the focus from the kitchen to your own tabletop. As soon as you walk in, the scent of aromatic broths fills the air, and you are greeted by the constant clinking of chopsticks against individual induction burners. This is a place where you call the shots, selecting your preferred soup base—ranging from the signature spicy Szechuan style to a milder, comforting tonkotsu—before submerging thinly sliced meats and crisp local vegetables into the bubbling pot.

The Customization Experience

The standout feature here is the sprawling condiment bar. You can mix and match soy, sesame, chili oil, garlic, and cilantro to create a dipping sauce that suits your exact palate. It is common to see patrons hovering over the spice station, perfecting their ratio of heat to umami. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch away from your office or settling in for a long dinner with friends, the pace is entirely yours to set. Pro tip: keep an eye on your broth level as the meal progresses, as it evaporates quickly under the steady heat of the burner.

Why Choose This Honolulu Spot?

If you are exploring the culinary landscape near the Sheridan Street corridor, this spot serves as a reliable go-to for those who enjoy communal eating without the fuss of traditional fine dining. The space is vibrant and often energetic, making it an ideal choice for groups who want to socialize while they cook. While parking in this busy pocket of Honolulu can be a bit of a tight squeeze during peak dinner hours, the ability to tailor every single bite to your liking makes it well worth the effort. It is straightforward, efficient, and deeply satisfying for anyone who craves the heat and freshness of authentic shabu-shabu.

Love the make your own sauce. Great choices for veggies, noodles, all kinds of dumplings, different types of fish balls, seafood, and if you arrive after 3pm all you can eat snow crab legs. Everything is great and easy.

Wow! Where do I start with this train wreck of a restaurant. Lets start with when they seated me and my family down we were seated next to a power strip with 20 different plugs jammed into it, not sure of building code laws but Im sure thats a violation. Not to mention our server didn’t bring us our soup until 20 minutes after we have seated on a relatively unbusy day. Not to mention when we got our food some of the noodles were stale and unpalatable! Then to end off this crappy night when we paid the bill PLUS the gratuity they MAKE you pay for their lousy service, they charged my card $20 extra dollars in gratuity after I chose the lowest amount. Save yourselves and trust me there are better options. Do better.

Super fun and chill hot pot spot! You get your own pot and grab fresh ingredients from a conveyor belt—meats, veggies, seafood, you name it. Tons of broth and sauce options to mix it up your way. Everything’s fresh, the vibe is casual, and the staff is friendly. Great for groups or even solo. Solid prices too. Definitely coming back!

It’s fun. Pick your own ingredients from off of a conveyor belt as they pass by, stick them in your individual pot of broth and wait for them to cook, eat, and enjoy. The variety of broth range from a mild, creamy coconut base. To spicy meat flavours, and also a healthy vegetarian. I chose the healthy vegetarian and was fully satisfied with its simplicity, which allowed for flavours to expand as ingredients were added to the pot of broth. Are a lot of seafood options, and each diner gets a choice of meat slices. I chose the lamb, my friend chose the pork belly. Both meats were mild in flavour. The sauce bar adds depth to what you’re eating, and diners can pick their own combinations. This place is BYOB, which is great. It’s pretty casual here. On Christmas , the all-you-can-eat was $39 per person for adults. Service is friendly & efficient.

We had a great and fun dinner! Cozy but clean place. Fast and friendly service. Miso soup base is highly recommended. We did individual soup. Meat choices were ribeye, premium beef and pork belly, more other meats are available. Shrimp, shell fish and fish are also available. I love their condiment corner, I usually experiment and make my own mix of spicy yummy sauce. We had the deep fried ice cream!

Best of all you can eat. A lot of different varieties or meat, sea food and vegetables. Most of the items will revolve around over the belt. If you are not getting it over the belt just walk and pick up. Good facilities. Do not try seafood base, its bland try some other soup base to enjoy best taste of the place. If you do not like spice than you can try the seafood one.

Really a nice place to go when you are hungry with an awesome all you can eat deal. The place is set up very nice with a conveyor system that has a constant supply of fresh veggies, fish balls and dumplings. Fresh meats including rib eye, lamb and pork can be requested from your server. The kitchen is very clean and clearly visible through the large window on the back wall. Lots of patio seating on the front of the store. This place is located in the new 808 building across from the Wal-Mart garage on the bottom floor. They offer free valet parking in a unique elevator parking system. Very reasonable food and beverage pricing. We had all you can eat for two was under 60 bucks and we stayed about 2 hours. We loved this place and recommend it to others.
