Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant
About
A Morning Ritual in the Heart of Honolulu
Stepping into Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant feels like dropping into a bustling neighborhood classic where the clatter of porcelain tea cups serves as the morning soundtrack. Located deep in the commercial hub of Honolulu, this spot ditches the white-tablecloth pretense for an authentic, no-frills Cantonese experience. It is where locals congregate for weekend brunch, filling the air with the comforting aroma of steamed bamboo baskets and jasmine tea.
The Art of the Cart
The culinary focus here is undeniably traditional. Servers weave through the dining room with silver carts piled high with small plates. You will want to flag them down for the har gow—translucent, delicate shrimp dumplings—and the pillowy char siu bao that arrives steaming hot. For those who enjoy a bit of texture, the chicken feet are prepared with a masterfully balanced savory sauce that keeps the regulars coming back. The kitchen excels at seafood staples, pulling from local island waters to ensure the catch in their ginger-scallion dishes remains firm and flavorful.
Know Before You Go
The space is functional and efficient, often buzzing with a high-energy hum that makes it perfect for loud family gatherings or a quick, satisfying workday lunch. Be prepared for a minor logistical quirk: the parking can get quite cramped during the peak Sunday morning rush, so arriving early is the best strategy to secure a spot before the dining room reaches its capacity. Whether you are navigating the menu for a quick bite or settling in for a long session of sharing plates, the kitchen prioritizes speed and consistent, savory profiles over elaborate presentation.

The venue is spacious, making it suitable for large groups; the service is friendly and prompt, and the dishes are diverse and full of flavor. The prices are very reasonable considering the portion sizes.

Had such a great experience at Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant! The dim sum was absolutely delicious; fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. Every dish we tried came out hot and tasted authentic. The variety was amazing, and it was hard to pick a favorite because everything was so good. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was attentive even while the restaurant was busy. You can tell this is a local favorite for a reason. If you love dim sum, this spot is definitely worth visiting while in Honolulu. We’ll absolutely be back!

Wow wow wow wow wow!! The dim sum was very delicious and the sizes were astronomical! I’ve never seen taro puffs, har gow (shrimp balls/dumplings), fried shrimp balls so generous before!! The flavors were all classic dim sum flavors, very delicious. I’ve had dim sum in many places down the west coast and east coast and I’ll tell you this may be top five for me! Sit down order your dim sum on the order slip and wait for the goodness to arrive at your table. Get everything, don’t even think about it. You’ll regret not ordering more! I promise.
