About
Savor Traditional Flavors at Hanul BBQ
Tucked away in the heart of Honolulu, Hanul BBQ serves as a go-to destination for those craving authentic Korean comfort food. The air is thick with the savory, caramelized scent of marinated meats hitting the grill, creating a sensory experience that defines the local K-town culture within the island city.
A Taste of Seoul in Hawaii
This spot is best known for its classic galbi and spicy pork bulgogi, which arrive at the table accompanied by an array of banchan—the small, tangy side dishes that make a meal feel complete. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch after a morning in Waikiki or settling in for a hearty dinner, the flavors remain consistently bold and deeply satisfying.
The Neighborhood Dynamic
Expect a lively, casual environment where the sounds of sizzling pans and energetic conversation fill the room. It isn't a place for hushed whispers; it is a spot for friends, families, and solo diners looking for an unpretentious, flavor-forward meal. Pro tip: while the food is stellar, keep an eye out for parking in this busy pocket of Honolulu, as spaces can fill up quickly during the peak dinner rush. The staff works efficiently to move tables, ensuring that the warm, grilled goodness keeps coming out to diners without much delay.

Local vibes. Good and generous food. Bbf beef and kalbi mix plate was just delicious. Don’t be picky on table cleanliness. You can take away and eat in the room✨🌺

This is what I’ve got for $40 plus 4% credit card fee charged by this place, not my bank: 2 bottles water from Costco, 2 pancakes and 2 unfrozen waffles. Omelette was VERY oily- swimmer in oil paddle. There were hash brown overburden so we throw it away.I’m do not recommend- don’t go there . Adding picture.

An incredible friendly staff and an amazing place to dine and eat. The food was amazing. The owner was incredibly hospitable and helped my party and I. Would recommend to anyone visiting the island and would come back just for them!

Great place to get some Asian Hawaiian food. I recommend knowing what you are ordering beforehand. I tried the Miso Butter Fish and another delicious meal. I just wasn't expecting the fish to be sweet. Great food altogether.

Food was so good that we ate there 3x during our 6 day vacation. Portions are huge, my wife and I chose Mini for all our meals. Korean BBQ, chicken tonkatsu, beef bulgogi, garlic chicken and loco moco and some of the meals we highly recommend.

Truly a gem to get some really good Hawaiian BBQ and sides. I think we ate here a total of 4 times during our 1 week stay. Finding enough vegetables and greens was somewhat hard while in Hawaii but me bar-b-que had amazing Chinese greens as well as broccoli. The BBQ short ribs were so good as well. Highly recommend stopping by and getting a plate.
