Ground Floor
About
A Modern Refresh for Honolulu Dining
Stepping into Ground Floor, you immediately notice the industrial-chic aesthetic that mirrors the evolving energy of the Kaka'ako district. It isn't just another coffee or lunch stop; it’s a bright, open space designed for those who appreciate clean lines and high ceilings. The scent of locally roasted beans often hangs heavy in the air, mixing with the aroma of freshly pressed paninis, making it a reliable refuge for remote workers and mid-day shoppers needing a break from the tropical heat.
What to Expect on Your Plate
The menu focuses on elevated casual fare, leaning heavily into fresh, locally sourced ingredients that define the current culinary landscape of Honolulu. You’ll find the signature sourdough toasts and hearty grain bowls are crowd favorites, often topped with house-made spreads. While the space is visually striking with its minimalist wood accents and large storefront glass, be prepared for the acoustics; the polished concrete floors tend to carry sound, making it a lively—if occasionally noisy—environment during the height of the lunch rush.
Navigating the Neighborhood
Located conveniently for those wandering between the boutiques and murals of Kaka'ako, Ground Floor offers a strategic pit stop. The parking situation can be a bit of a dance due to the popularity of the surrounding blocks, so opting for a bike or a short walk from nearby residential complexes is usually the smartest move. Whether you are grabbing a quick pour-over or settling in with a laptop, the service remains brisk and functional, catering to the fast-paced lifestyle of urban O'ahu.

Came in for lunch thinking we would be OK and the place was decently busy, to the point the place was full. One member of staff going around taking orders and managing the bar. Only saw 2 guys in the kitchen. Best come when you have time to sit and wait.

Salmon had no flavor & salmon was overcooked. It took almost 30 minutes for my friends salad to be served. I've been here before and the food were good but I guess after the new management the flavor changed.

Pleasant surprise. I didn't know they existed but they are literally right around the corner from my office. Finding a great lunch with great and fast service in a sit down restaurant for $10 is unheard of, but I did. I had the garlic chicken and it was perfect. I was in and out in the same amount of time it would have taken me to go to the fast food places a couple of blocks over.
