Germaine's Luau

🌺 Germaine's Luau felt like an authentic backyard Hawaiian luau, complete with the traditional imu ceremony. 🔥 The food was good, and they brought out the first plates with a sampling of everything. It was honestly more food than we could eat, and we felt bad wasting some because we couldn't finish it and never went back for seconds. 🍣 We tried everything, including the salmon dish that looked a bit like salsa. It wasn't our favorite, but we're glad we gave it a try. The poi, the traditional purple taro paste, wasn't for me—it had a texture and flavor I can only describe as wet cardboard. 😅 The pork and chicken were both excellent. 🍗 We passed on most of the teriyaki beef because it was dry and difficult to eat. The potato salad and elbow macaroni salad were fantastic, and my favorite dessert was the coconut square. 🥥 The cake was a little too sweet for my taste. 🚌 My only real complaint was that our bus arrived about 30 minutes late. By the time we got there, the lines for the flower hair pieces 🌺 and temporary tattoos were very long. When they announced the imu ceremony, we stopped to watch it, and afterward I went straight back to the flower line only to find it had already closed. We had paid for VIP, I think it was called the plumeria package, and never received our flower hair piece. I would suggest having a few flower hair pieces already made and reserved specifically for VIP guests so everyone receives what they paid for. 💃 The show itself was great. The only improvement I'd suggest is increasing the volume of the MC's microphone 🎤 during the louder parts of the performance, as it was sometimes difficult to hear her over the music and activity on stage. 🌴 Overall, we had a great time, enjoyed the authentic atmosphere, and were happy we chose Germaine's Luau. This was one of the top parts of our trip. It is an authentic luau. Its set on a beautiful beach and the staff is great. Everyone is very friendly. They pull the Kalua pig right out of the ground for you to see. Food was amazing. The show was fantastic. It really has you engaged. We have 2 small boys and they had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend

This is a fun show all the way around. All the actors are so nice and accommodating. The show starts slow but builds nicely. Some of the staff are a tad grumpy - again not the dancers. Food is surprisingly good.

Wonderful show with talented performers! After you check in make sure to get in line for your fresh flower hair piece! Located just left of the stage.

We purchased a package through our hotel and had a charter bus take us to the Luau. Due to traffic we were the last bus to arrive so check in was easy and hassle free. The entertainment on the bus and at the Luau was great! My daughter was part of the group of kids that went up on stage. The beautiful views of the ocean and sunset added to the atmosphere. The dancing representative of each of the islands was very interesting. Talking with our table-mates, this luau was more laid back than the other they went to the day before. A great time to finish our vacation.

We went for my daughter's 25th bday & first time coming to Hawaii, we had an amazing night! The location was great, right on the beach with stunning views, they had a few activities before the show & pre dinner presentation with the pig was fun. We all enjoyed the dinner & there were plenty of options. The show was full of energy & they did a fantastic job! I've been to a couple luaus here &this was my favorite so far, definitely recommend!

An entertaining evening tourist style. There are a few different ticket levels or packages. Choose whatever your comfortable with, you still get the food and the entertainment. The dancers are excellent. The food was good. The drinks were OK. The biggest issue our group of 7 and others around us had were all the flies! In your drinks on the tables and on the desserts at the buffet tables. They need to add some candles or bug Zappers or fabric softeners on the tables to keep the flies away. It was very annoying especially when getting the food, the bugs kept trying to get to the food so I had to eat fast then throw away the plate quickly just to keep the flies away. I didn't want to get my 2nd drink because of the flies. This Luau has been here many years, they need to do something about this problem.

This is definitely a family event. My 18/13 year olds enjoyed the show. Food was good with plenty of variety. We paid for the basic package which still provided a good view of the stage. Additional drinks were a reasonable $8 for the basic mixed drinks while higher end were $16. The "pig ceremony" was cool to see and it smelled/tasted great. This luau was 10x better than what we saw at our resort. Would I go with just my wife? Unlikely. Is rather put those funds towards another activity if it was just the two of us.

We’d rate the experience a solid 4 out of 5. The food was decent, though we were especially excited for the pork and it didn’t quite meet our expectations. The staff were friendly, and the drinks were fine, but the non‑alcoholic options were pretty limited (just a few sodas, punch, and coffee). It rained during our visit, but the show continued, which we appreciated. The “tattoo” station used sharpies, so we skipped that—henna would’ve been a nicer touch. The handmade flower hair pieces were lovely. The complimentary gift is a glass, while the Tiki cups cost $18. You can purchase additional alcoholic drinks after using your two included ones, but they’re on the pricey side. My virgin piña colada was $18 for a small cup. The views, however, were beautiful, and the sunset was stunning. They also take photos at the beginning, which are available for $30 for two images.

This place was magical. We booked the original package with transportation and our guide for the transportation was cousin Alika.. he was so much fun and made the ride very entertaining. We ended up stuck in traffic for well over an hour and he made sure to keep everyone talkative and happy. The entire staff at Germaine’s was so welcoming and made me and my son feel like family. The food was also so delicious and the drinks were great too. I did a ton of research into the luau’s before picking one and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I highly recommend them!!
