Genki Sushi (1450 Ala Moana Blvd Ste 2096)
About
A Modern Spin on Traditional Kaiten-Sushi
Situated within the bustling Ala Moana Center, Genki Sushi brings high-speed, conveyor-belt dining to the heart of Honolulu. This isn’t your typical sit-down meal; the system is designed for efficiency and fun, featuring a dual-layer rail that zips your orders directly from the kitchen to your table with satisfying mechanical precision.
Fast-Paced Flavors
The menu leans heavily into approachable Japanese comfort food. You will find everything from classic nigiri to local favorites like spicy tuna rolls and seared salmon with mayo. The garlic shrimp and various tempura options are staples that keep the lunchtime crowd moving through the dining room at a rapid clip. Watching the miniature bullet trains deliver plates keeps the atmosphere energetic and lighthearted, making it an ideal pitstop during a long day of shopping.
The Ala Moana Energy
Because of its prime location in one of Hawaii's busiest retail hubs, be prepared for a lively, sometimes loud environment. The sound of excited chatter, the occasional electronic chime of a completed order, and the clatter of plates create a vibrant backdrop. It’s a fast-paced space, so don't expect a quiet, intimate retreat. The seating is organized for quick turnover, perfect for groups who want to get straight to the food without the fuss of white-tablecloth service.
Pro-tip: If you visit during peak weekend hours, the waitlist can grow quickly. It is worth keeping an eye on the digital check-in board while you finish browsing the nearby shops. Whether you are craving a quick afternoon snack or a full spread of nigiri, the quick-fire service model ensures you spend less time waiting and more time eating.

This was our very first time here. It was very busy but the wait was not longer than about 10 Minutes. They have a great selection of different sushi with pictures and descriptions of each one. Once ordered our food came to us very quickly via a little train car. We selected and ate a few different kinds of sushi and everything was tasty and fresh. We will definitely be going again.

Definitely love going to this location. This is the Alamoana location located on the 2nd floor near Harry Winston and Sephora. Every time we go here the service is always awesome and the food is always delicious. Not to mention very fast. The location is not as big as other locations but the wait time is not long. The wait time is pretty quick too. You have an option of booth or chairs and they make it very convenient with the QR code on the outside door for the wait-list and the other QR for the table menu. Their new menu is even better then the original menu with over 50 new options. Ordering is simple on your phone through the Queue as it keeps your tab open if you want to add more. They still keep a paper menu if you prefer to look at what your ordering. It's very exciting to see the food delivered on this cute bullet trains. Once your done you can press the call button to close your check. You can either pay by card at your table or at the desk near the entrance. Either way I definitely recommend if you want a quick snack or bite if your shopping around Ala Moana.

Fun sushi restaurant. Not the freshest fish, but good and nice dishes for the price, and great service. I just wish they had the consistant conveyor belt where you can just take what you want because there's a lot of options to scroll through on your phone to order. And they also don't have the plate game where you discard your plates and every 5 plates you get a chance to win a prize like some other places. But nice place to go overall.

It's been a long time since my last visit here. Everything is still the same. The menu has not changed much but they do have seasonal and special items. The special item called "Chicken Rayu" is delicious but a little more salty than my likings. Everything else was great! I always get the fried salmon here. Same old taste I had years ago. Service is also great. Line moves quickly during lunch hours on Saturday.

Greeted and seated right away at a table. We got there just before the dinner rush. Everything is QR code to order and let the staff know if you need anything else. You can even create a table group so people can oder from your own phone but be sure to not accidentally double order from two different phones. Food quality was good for the price and staff is friendly. The portion of the Fried Squid was awesome! Didn’t eat too much this visit but was totally satisfied!

We’ve been Genki fans for years. If you want really really great sushi, this is not the place. Think of it more as a fast food sushi. It’s good but it’s not fine dining. Service experience is fun with ordering in the app and the little trains zipping to your table with your order. Staff are very nice but sometimes has to be flagged down for a tea or soda refills. Great place for families. Some vegetarian/vegan options like tofu, string beans or eggplant sushi.

Super fun environment for bullet train sushi (conveyor belt sushi). Affordable price for sushi. Sushi is fresh and with a Hawaiian twist. Staff is friendly and casual. Went by myself and wait time was only a few minutes to setup my dinning area at the bar during a busy lunch time.
