Sip on Local Favorites in the Heart of Honolulu
Stepping into Fortune Tea feels like a quick escape from the humid Honolulu sun. This compact, bustling spot is a neighborhood staple for those craving a precise balance of sweetness and texture in their daily beverage routine. You will hear the rhythmic clinking of ice shakers and the friendly chatter of students and locals navigating the lunch hour rush.
The menu leans into the craft of quality tea-based drinks, featuring everything from earthy, robust milk teas to bright, fruit-forward infusions that provide an immediate cool-down. The pearls here are cooked to order, maintaining a chewy, satisfying bite that contrasts perfectly with the velvety creaminess of their signature house blends. If you are indecisive, their jasmine green tea base is a standout for its floral notes that never veer into bitter territory.
Be prepared for a high-energy environment; the space is intimate, which means prime seating can be a challenge during peak afternoon windows. It is the kind of place where you duck in for a quick pick-me-up while exploring the vibrant corridors of the city. While the parking situation in this part of town demands a bit of patience, the refreshing payoff of a cold, custom-sweetened tea makes the effort worthwhile. Whether you are looking for a classic brown sugar boba or a refreshing lychee cooler, this spot delivers an honest, straightforward experience that anchors the neighborhood tea scene.

Love their Oreo milk tea! Been going there for few years now and it’s my go to spot for milk tea if you want to chill with friends or study!

Great, quick service, but most importantly awesome Boba teas! We really liked that we could control the amount of sweetness too. Will definitely be back!

I really like this place. I just get their House milk tea. Large size is $5.24 including tax. I prefer to patronize these local places. Nice bright space. Give them credit for providing comfortable chairs. Pro Tip #1: Adjust the sweetness level to your preference. I like my milk tea at only 20% sugar level, so I can taste the tea flavor more. Pro Tip 2: Pick up your lunch or snack at nearby Safeway, then come here to relax with a nice drink 😋😊
