About
A Waikiki Island Staple
For decades, Food Pantry has served as the unofficial heartbeat of Waikiki. While modern high-end grocery chains have moved into Honolulu, this shop remains a quintessential stop for locals and visitors alike who need a quick fix before hitting the beach. The atmosphere is unpretentious and buzzing with the frantic energy of tourists grabbing last-minute sunscreen, bottled water, and local snacks.
Local Flavors and Island Essentials
Stepping inside, the air is cooled by heavy-duty air conditioning that provides a welcome relief from the humid Pacific breeze outside. You will find the shelves packed with everything from essential Hawaiian staples to grab-and-go prepared meals perfect for a sunset picnic at the beach. It is the kind of place where you can find a bag of Maui Style potato chips and a cold canned coffee without navigating the labyrinthine aisles of a massive supermarket.
The Waikiki Experience
Keep in mind that space is at a premium here. The aisles are narrow and the checkout lines can get long during the late afternoon rush as people gear up for dinner. It is a tight, bustling environment that captures the fast-paced, convenience-first lifestyle of central Waikiki. Whether you are grabbing a quick breakfast before a surf session or stocking up on drinks for your hotel room, this neighborhood fixture is woven into the daily rhythm of the district. It is not about luxury; it is about finding exactly what you need, exactly where you are, right in the thick of Honolulu’s most famous vacation hub.

The poke bowls are fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious - I especially recommend the spicy and California versions. You can also add sides like pasta salad, vegetable salad, or fish options. Friendly and helpful staff make the experience even better.

In this area, it feels like there are only two options to shop for quick bites; either ABC stores for Hawaiian snacks at beefed up prices, or 7/11 for mostly things you can find back home. But I am happy to say that Food Pantry is a secret third option that is the best of both worlds! A wide variety of food awaits, including some impressive options made right there, hot or cold! So happy I found this place!

Nice local grocery store very convenient to the Ilikai hotel and the Hilton. Good produce and prepared food. Most grocery staples are available.
