Eggs 'n Things - Ala Moana
About
A Local Honolulu Breakfast Staple
Steps away from the sprawling Ala Moana Center, this island institution serves up a quintessential Hawaiian breakfast experience. The air here carries the sweet, unmistakable scent of coconut syrup and sizzling macadamia nuts. Whether you are refueling after a morning of shopping or preparing for a hike at Diamond Head, the restaurant offers an unpretentious space to enjoy comfort food that has defined Honolulu brunch culture since 1974.
Island Comforts on Your Plate
You cannot talk about this landmark without mentioning the towering stacks of pancakes. The whipped cream reaches dizzying heights, disappearing slowly into buttery, golden batter. If you prefer a savory start, the Loco Moco—a local favorite featuring a juicy patty over rice with rich gravy—is the main event. The menu remains grounded in the traditions that made the original Waikiki location famous, providing a reliable, hearty meal that hits the spot every time.
What to Expect at the Ala Moana Outpost
The space is bright, bustling, and unapologetically casual. You will hear the clatter of silverware against ceramic plates and the energetic hum of locals and visitors alike. It is the kind of place where you might have to navigate a brief wait during the weekend rush, but the turnover is fast and the staff keeps the coffee flowing steadily. Expect a straightforward, high-energy environment that favors substance over ceremony, perfect for families or a quick, filling morning meal in the heart of Honolulu.

This place was pretty busy with a 30 min wait. The wait staff were hard to grab but the food was decent. There is a parking lot out front.

Their loco moco was 🔥🔥. The flame grill beef patty and crispy sausage was so good. The special crepe of the day was glazed strawberry and Nutella. Came with 3 crepes topped with Nutella and strawberries. I will definitely be coming back.

The pancakes looks good on the out side and in the picture... but dont let it fool ya. The whip cream feels and tastes fake like it was bought in a tub full of synthetics. The syrup is definetly fake and the worst part, it's slimy. It's not the staffs fault or the atmosphere, its the food. The salty and savory menu items are good. The pancakes are 1/10.

When you are about to spend the day at Ala Moana mall. Fill you tank up here. The service was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The food was well prepared and tasty. Though the proportions were a bit small for an Hawaii breakfast. No real complaints here. Eggs 'n Things has been a staple in Hawaii since the 1970's. It has survived for a reason. If you're local and haven't been in a while stop by and help a local business stay open for another 50 years. As always, shop and eat local.

1st time visit. Zero expectations. Just a place for eggs. There was a line & advised a wait time of 50 mins. Let me tell you, the wait was well worth it. Food did not disappoint. It was ono delicious. Had the pork chop with pineapple. Absolutely yum. Way better than what I thought. Ordered the kalbi with fried rice too. The marinate on the kalbi..heavenly...though well done, was really tender. Couldn't believe how good it was. Last item we had was the Loco Moco. The fresh guava juice is as fresh as you can get. As if it was drained out right from the fruit. The pineapple tea was truly refreshing. What stood out from our experience was the outstanding service provided by the the service & counter staff. The ultimate dining experience that outdoes many restaurants we've visited in Hawaii. Many thanks & special mention to our server Dom. The highlight to us was the kind & sincere service rendered by him. Thankful for the great service which made this 1st time visit especially memorable.

Eggs ’n Things consistently delivers great food, good service, and reasonable prices, making it a dependable choice for breakfast or brunch in Honolulu. The fresh fruit pancakes were phenomenal, with incredibly fresh toppings, though the portion size is very large and easily shareable. The spinach, bacon, and cheese omelet was also excellent, cooked perfectly and well balanced in flavor. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient, which added to the overall positive experience. While not all Eggs ’n Things locations are equal, the 451 Pi‘ikoi Street location in Honolulu is our favorite. This location consistently offers better execution, quality, and service than others and is the one we recommend most confidently.

This place hits the spot! If you're looking for a perfect hawaiian breakfast the the acai mochi waffle or Kalbi with eggs is amazing!! Get the POG to drink and you're in for a treat! The service was friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was as expected simple and clean. We went on a Monday at 11ish and were seated right away. I was looking for an alternative to boots and kimos (cause the wait time is ridiculous) and this might be my new go to!

We ordered the rainbow pancakes and they did not disappoint—fluffy, light, and the whipped cream was so good I kept going back for more. I also had the smoked salmon Benedict, and as a true salmon girlie, trust me when I say this was good lox. Perfectly done, flavorful, and I wiped my plate clean. The service was great, with attentive staff always checking in. I already plan to come back again during my short time here. If you’re debating it—just go.
