About
A New England Staple in the Heart of Honolulu
When the craving for cold-water Atlantic crustacean hits while you're surrounded by the Pacific, Da Buttah Lobstah brings a slice of Maine to the islands. Tucked away in the urban landscape of Honolulu, this spot ditches the white-tablecloth pretense for the messy, butter-drenched simplicity of a classic roll.
The Signature Butter Experience
The menu is laser-focused, centering on premium Maine lobster plucked from the shell and tossed in a proprietary warm, clarified butter blend that coats every chunk of meat. You won't find over-complicated toppings here; the focus remains on the sweet, snappy texture of the seafood paired with a toasted, split-top brioche bun that manages to stay structural under the weight of the butter. The scent of browned butter and toasted bread hits you before you even reach the counter.
Why This Spot Commands Your Attention
This is a destination for those who value ingredient quality over ambiance. The setup is modest and straightforward—perfect for a quick, indulgent lunch or an easy-going dinner. It is worth noting that the space is compact, so expect a cozy experience that leans more toward high-velocity takeout than a lingering lounge session. If you are exploring the local food scene near Kaka'ako or downtown, it serves as an excellent palate cleanser from the typical heavy local grind, offering a sharp, salty, and savory punch that feels distinctively East Coast while staying firmly rooted in the Honolulu culinary landscape.

Some of the tastiest food on the island, for a fraction of the price of most places. Would highly recommend a visit. This place is formerly known as "Da Butta Lobstah" and can still be found as such on Google Maps. Get the lobster sandwich (grilled cheese) and the roll. Absolutely phenomenal food.

The lobster roll was fantastic! There are chunks of rich, delicious lobster in a sauce that doesn't overpower and the butter roll brought the whole thing together. Had the corn chowder which was also fantastic! The parking was limited like everywhere in HNL but the food more than made up for the slight inconvenience with parking.

Great service and fresh ingredients always brings me to Jolene's . I ordered the lobster roll, which was good, but not what I expected. If you enjoy cold, shredded lobster mixed in mayo, with lettuce, pickled veggies and drizzled with butter, you'll love it. Sadly, I expected a hot buttery grilled roll with chunks from a 4 oz tail and solid claw meat drizzled in garlic butter which cost $2 more from an eatery not far from Jolene's. Jolene's butter lobster roll was good but not as expected for the price.
