A Kaka'ako Lunch Staple

Tucked away amidst the vibrant murals and industrial charm of Kaka'ako, Cooke Street Market serves as a essential refueling stop for Honolulu locals navigating the neighborhood's bustling warehouse district. This isn't your average deli; it functions as a community hub where the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingles with the appetizing aroma of daily specials.

Grab-and-Go Done Right

The market specializes in hearty, no-nonsense fare perfect for those caught in the shuffle of a busy workday. Their menu centers on elevated comfort food, featuring rotating hot plates that often highlight local flavors, alongside a reliable selection of sandwiches and quick bites. The poke bowls are a standout for anyone looking for a fresh, authentic taste of island life without the sit-down restaurant wait times. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch before heading to the nearby art galleries or picking up snacks for a day at the beach, the efficiency here is unmatched.

The Local Character

Walking in, you'll immediately notice the unpretentious, straightforward layout designed for movement. It captures the authentic, gritty energy of Honolulu’s up-and-coming commercial center. Just a heads-up for those driving in: parking in this pocket of the city can be notoriously tricky during the lunch rush, so plan to arrive early or prepare for a short walk through the neighborhood. The staff keeps the lines moving with professional speed, making it a favorite for the area's workforce who value quality over fanfare.

I absolutely love their strawberry matcha latte with boba! The drinks are not too sweet which is perfect & the boba is always cooked to perfection. I also recommend getting their poke bowls! The workers are always nice & friendly, & will help answer any questions you may have! The prices are extremely good for the quality & portion you get. They also do promos on their social medias as well such as BOGOs on drinks if you follow their accounts! Pictured is the strawberry matcha latte, will you be my matcha (a Valentine’s Day special), & their habanero ahi poke bowl! All delicious & reasonably priced.

came here with some friends, not knowing what to expect, and absolutely loved the food! My friends ordered the miso dynamite salmon plate and the garlic lovers poke bowl. both tasted amazing and the fish was very fresh and flavorful. I don't usually like fish so I was surprised by how tasty they were! I ordered the tanuki udon and was blown away by how flavorful the broth was; the noodles were perfectly chewy too! one thing to note, parking is metered street parking, so it's a bit limited. I will definitely be saving this place, coming again, and telling my friends about it too!

I came to try the strawberry matcha after seeing everyone post about it. It’s beautiful drink and my husband enjoyed it. They get a 9.5/10 for iced latte, it was the perfect mix of sweet and bitter. Just how I like my lattes. Super cute environment, I definitely plan on coming back to grab a drink and hangout on my laptop.

I just buy smoothies here...they are good, nothing stood out as amazing...alittle pricey. Service is good, nothing bad happen. The place has alot of space but limited seating. If they brought more tables and chairs, I feel more people are willing to hangout, study or relax here...but tables and chairs are limited and always filled.

Inside is very inviting. Pretty chill. Workers are very patient and kind. Super friendly too. Food is AMAZING. Get the Habanero Dynamite. Not too spicy and full of flavor. I get it with salmon. It's super fresh and filling.

We just happened to walk past this place looking for somewhere to kill time before the breweries in the area opened. It’s very nondescript in a strip mall, but the food and drinks are stellar. We ordered a Kyoto Ginger drink that was so delicious and refreshing. My friend said her acai bowl was the best she’s had. Everyone was very happy with their choices except for the green juice (but that’s what you get for ordering something healthy).

I'm so happy that the girl taking my order recommended the Spicy Garlic Ahi Bowl..... FOR REAL THE BEST POKE BOWL I'VE EVER HAD! Obviously if you don't like garlic this is not the best option for you. But I love garlic and this reminds me of a ramen bowl, and has so much flavor of Japan (including cucumber which I usually don't like but hit the spot as far as contrast in flavor). I'm heading back again today to try something different. I'll post the photos.
