About
A Fresh Perspective on Honolulu Dining
Stepping into Coco Bloom Kitchen, you immediately sense the shift away from the typical tourist traps found throughout the Kakaʻako and Ala Moana districts. The space favors a clean, breezy aesthetic where the scent of locally sourced citrus and freshly charred aromatics hangs in the air. It is the kind of spot designed for long, lingering lunches where the clinking of silverware against ceramic plates provides a rhythmic soundtrack to your meal.
The Culinary Approach
The kitchen leans heavily into the abundance of the island, prioritizing ingredients harvested from Oʻahu farms. Chef-driven menus here avoid the heavy, fried tropes often associated with Hawaiian plate lunches, opting instead for lighter, nutrient-dense bowls and creative seasonal compositions. You will find that the signature poke bowls and grilled fish preparations prioritize texture—the snap of fresh vegetables against the buttery, oceanic tenderness of the daily catch is consistent and deliberate.
Know Before You Go
While the atmosphere is undeniably serene, be prepared for the compact nature of the dining room. During the peak lunch hour, the space fills up quickly with local office workers and neighborhood residents, which can lead to a slightly energetic, high-decibel environment. Parking in this part of Honolulu can be a minor hurdle, so leave yourself a few extra minutes to navigate the nearby street parking or structured lots. It is an ideal setting for a casual meeting or a quiet solo retreat when you want to bypass the standard resort-style dining experiences. The staff keeps things moving efficiently, ensuring that despite the popularity of their menu, your table turnover remains swift without feeling rushed.

Great place for gluten free food. GF chicken Katsu, acai bowls, salads, banana bread and more. Small place but lots of parking. Hole in the wall.

Please source better bread for the Japanese sandos. Quality is just not there. Katsu sando was dry. Egg salad was beautiful with the whole runny soft boiled egg but flavor was bland with no seasoning. The chopped local veggie salad however, was excellent!
